Last time we beat them at Villa park was 1998. That means that, in the last 17 years, Man United have beaten Arsenal more times at Villa Park than we have.

That cheery thought occurred to me too.

I've also been thinking about the first game we played under Lerner which was at The Emirates. It's as if the final game of this season will close the circle very neatly

We've won one of our last 52 home league games v Liverpool, Arsenal and Man United. One.

I think we're all past anger now.

All of us are in different stages f the grief reaction when we lose someone near and dear. That someone is the Villa.
Stage 1 denial - those who still think we will NOT be relegated.
Stage 2 anger - those ranting about Lerner, Fox, Reilly the players debating why Villa are where they are
Stage 3 bargaining - those saying if we win this and that happens
Stage 4 depression - the what's the point in going brigade
Stage 5 acceptance - those who have gone through the above & accept the inevitable (relegation)

The grief reaction takes longer in some than others.

Not only was the 98 match the last time we beat Arsenal at home, not sure but I believe it was also the last time we came from from 2 down to win a match.

Totally agree Dave about crazy decision to leave Adama on the bench until the 87th minute and would you start him on Saturday?

We were 2 nil down at Spurs and came back to win 4-2, Dublin with an overhead kick. 2000?

Whilst we definitely made changes to win the game in 98, I did wonder if the Santa thing affected the Arsenal players more than ours as well. It came a few weeks after their coach (with them on board?) killed the Steward at Coventry.

FFS. A couple of wins we'll be right back in it! Losing to Arsenal (as Dave points out) isn't gonna get us relegated. And before the deluge of reasons as to what will get us relegated (as also mentioned in the article) watch this space!! ;-) And no I don't have any insider knowledge and yes I'm obviously at stage 1 (denial) as well as having had a good nights sleep UTV!!

And also just after a fan was killed in Greece.

Ok Chico I would never argue with one of my heroes. But was the 98 match the last time we came from 2 down at HOME to win.
