Not sure if this has been posted somewhere already? I'm going to withhold my licence fee out of disgust...

Sounds b******* to me. If it can't recognise words with a different number of syllables for a start, it's not much use.

As Tommy Docherty would probably have said "He issued a Fatwa, and ended up with Fat Ron"

I posted a photo that someone took of the offending item but I forget which thread. This is one of the joys of live subtitles. On a piece about the Spassky v Fischer match last week, the One Show told of how the American challenger unexpectedly moved his porn, blowing the game wide open.

From the Randy Lerner thread

At least he wouldn't be seen accessorising in a politically inflammatory style like his predecessor:

I bet we'd win a lot more home matches if we had the Hezbollah in the crowd.

Wouldn't want to stand near the ref when he blows up for half time.

I think it was the BBC 2 years ago who, with their text subtitles, declared the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Whores instead of Year pf the Horse.

Doesn't work like that. I've spent the last 2.5 years working on Voice Analytics. It recognises the phonetic components rather than words, and then matches them against its dictionary (which is customer specific) , and uses probability to come up with the most likely match. Will also differ depending on the accent of the person talking.

Hezbollah is probably used a lot more at the BBC than "his Villa scarf".

I think the only fair solution to this is that the other 19 clubs in the Premier League each have 10 points deducted.

Lets call it 20 points so we have a chance of staying up.

That's tickled me.

When I first moved to the North West the best part of a quarter of century ago, I was working in the Lancashire town of Haslingden.  Whenever the primitive word-processing package we had at work came across the town name whilst doing a spell check it always stopped and suggested the correct alternative was "Whaling gun".  It must have done it hundreds of times to me alone, but for some reason it always amused me.

This is just another example in the long line of how poorly the club is being run at the moment................................................
