Security Statement
« on: November 24, 2015, 06:36:41 PM »
Information for Saturday

Quote
Aston Villa will be increasing the level of security for forthcoming games, following the recent attacks in Paris - starting with the game against Watford on Saturday.

Changes will include but not be limited to:

Spot checks with metal detectors in the turnstile area
All bags will be searched so please don't bring one unless absolutely necessary
Spot checks on vehicles

To help with higher levels of security all fans are asked to:

ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 30 MINUTES BEFORE KICK OFF (2.30 PM FOR WATFORD)
IF ARRIVING BY CAR AND USING THE HOLTE OR NORTH STAND CAR PARKS, BRING YOUR CAR PARK PASS
APPROACH THE TURNSTILES WITH COATS, JACKETS ETC UNFASTENED AND OPEN

Your help is vital in helping prevent any further attacks.

Thank you.

I usually like to have my coat unfastened and open when crossing Aston Park...you never know when an opportunity might arise.

To be fair there is more chance of ISIS launching an attack at Villa Park than there is  our forward line .

and don't think Aston Villa V Watford will be high profile game enough for them. Have ISIS ever attacked in UK yet. Just asking.

I'm working in the City Centre until 14:15 so no way i'll make it before 14:30.

What's going to happen then because if they refuse entry after 14:30 then I might as well stay at work.

They'll let you in, it's just recommending/asking people to get there for 14:30 if they can.

Don't think they are saying they will refuse entry, just that it will inevitably take longer for each person to gain entry to the ground, thus there will be queues forming.  These can be mitigated by persons arriving earlier so that there are not queues outside at kick off time.

Avoid crowded places.

I'm going to stay in Watford's half with a tin hat on.

A premier league match will probably be seen as high profile enough.  Which means we should be safer next season.

I saw them at Glastonbury Festival in 2009.
