Nailed it Dave and a lot more restrained than I could have been regarding the last weeks of Sherwood's reign.

It's a start. And lots of positives in the performance.

Dave: Need to correct where you want to say twenty minutes and club not cub.

Good diplomacy and fairness to exclude the omissions from the team by popular demand having an effect also. Good balanced piece as always.

I think that the most important thing is that we have clawed ourselves back to within a win with the others around us. The 4 point gap was a mental block but now if we can build we can start to close the gap

I am certain this year we will not need 38-40 points - we just need to be better than three others teams - and I think we clearly are.

Good assessment Dave.

Regarding Remi's English, having heard his post match interview, it's clear English is not an issue, especially compared to Timmy's version of it. Shouldn't be a problem for any player, though don't know how Remi's Spanish is.

I thought his demeanour during the match was excellent, and seemed to be a lot of concentration on how they were playing and what he wanted when at certain periods. A far cry from our previous comatose managers.

He looked alert, didn't he. Not overcome with emotion, not despondent or flailing or hysterical, but calm and attentive. Not used to this.

As for his English, unlike his predecessor he seems to have mastered the first person singular form of the verb 'to be', meaning he doesn't have to keep saying his own name.

The most encouraging thing (apart from them passing to each other and holding on to the ball for several minutes rather than several seconds) was when Remy wanted to make a point, he was able to signal from the bench, the players did as they were asked and they understood what he wanted.

Complete contrast to the last 2 managers who waved arms about and nobody had a clue what they wanted. Apart from signalling for the men in white coats to take them away.

Unless you work for the Social Media department of the club.
