I must admit from the away end upper tier I thought Westwood was making a meal of it and was amazed he had to go off. We had a few chances to put the ball out but that would have deprived Gabby of one of his 6 touches.

Dean was wrong for not stopping the game sooner but was negligent in not allowing the trainer on when he did stop the game. One of the Villa players was waving the physio on but he obviously had to wait for the ref who had nothing to lose in allowing him on once he had stopped the game.

I agree with that pat. it was gabby waving on the physio but there was also a Villa player - maybe Clark? - who was telling the physio not to come on. I thought Westwood was at it too and was wondering why he was walking off as if he'd been hit with a baseball bat around his head especially as he'd come back on to a well deserved chorus of boos. And then he went straight down the tunnel. the point being if he was that bad then the referee did have the option of stopping the game when we had the ball if he thought Westwood was trying to gain an advantage. Then if Westwood was as woozy as it appeared when he staggered off it is ineptitude at the highest level for Dean not to spot it and get the physio on immediately once the game had been stopped.
I think Clark was going ballistic at Dean for not getting the trainer on earlier. That's what it looked like from 600 miles away anyway. It looked as though he was heading straight for Dean as soon as play stopped.

I have become full on unhinged after yesterdays game but even in my emotional state I think its an objective fact that Dean was extremely biased and did a terrible job overall.

In a reasonable world he would be suspended.

Especially as Dean always seems to give us absolutely fu*k all on a very regular basis!

I'm convinced he hates us and does all he can to influence games accordingly.
My heart sinks every time I see his name next to our game.

I was getting really pissed off at him not stopping the game at the time and I think it was one of 3-4 genuinely terrible decisions he got wrong. The booking for Ayew was ridiculous given he'd just come on and he tried to pull out of the challenge, especially when you look at the one by Rose on Bacuna 10 minutes earlier that wasn't even a free kick, that inconsistency is infuriating.

To quote Dr Michelle Roberts ( BBC )
"  Any knock to the head can be dangerous, although thankfully most are not.
Anyone who has had a blow to the head should seek immediate medical attention regardless of how mild it might seem.
The force of the blow can cause the brain to twist, damaging nerves and tissue.
The skull's sharp interior ridges can tear arteries and veins running through the brain, allowing blood to leak.
As with any injured body part, there will be swelling and bruising too.
With nowhere to escape, the pressure can build and squeeze the brain.
This is a medical emergency.A seemingly innocuous injury can be fatal "

Its a big ´IF´but , if Westwood had , or God forbid may even still  have , a serious head injury , as the facts above prove may be possible, I wonder how Mike Dean will feel.
Westy exhibited the tell tale dangerous symptoms i.e. Disorientation ,Vomiting,Problems balancing and that idiot kept the game going around him , despite the danger of him being knocked again.
It beggars belief that Villa have not made serious representations to the F.A.( assuming that they haven´t ) re the incredibly inept  , stupid and wholly unprofessional conduct of Mike Dean....................Godzvilla!

Gabby could and should have put the ball out but didn't.
He could have got up to the dizzy heights of eight or nine touches doing that.

What struck me most about the incident which I witnessed last night was the length of time before the doctor was called on even after Dean had, belatedly, stopped the game. Just like a previous poster I am usually sympathetic where Premier League refs are concerned - it's a thankless task with all the instant analysis - but Dean was bang out of order last night.

No more news about Westwood's injury today. I hope that means he is OK.

That was a deliberate forearm blow by Dembele. He could've got a red card for that, or at the very least a yellow. The video panel should take another look but I bet they don't.

Mike Dean's delay/refusal to let Westwood have treatment is a safety risk to the player. It needs looking in to.

I remember my initial reaction was that he'd disallowed it as the fist pumping gesture was not one I'd seen from a referee before.

I took the fist pumping action to be public admission that "I'm a wanker"
