Bob Marley - Three Little Birds.
« on: October 29, 2015, 07:56:15 AM »
"Baby don't worry about a thing, 'Cause every little thing gonna be alright".

Not sure if this was it's first airing at St Mary's last night but it seemed to go down well on the left hand side of the away end.

I think we should really make this our song now. (Just keep the beat slow, it went too fast at the end!!)

Amongst all the Gallows humour last night and songs about how shit we are, this song just made me smile.

We sang it at home to Fulham in 2011. Had the Holte rocking.

This gets the nod from me, especially in the situation we currently find ourselves in. Though Ajax do sing it it wouldn't be as bad as another rehashing of Sloop John B or 7 Nation Army.

Three Little Birds is alright. We should learn the rest of he words mind.

The songs about how shit we are etc were moronic, but when every year 10 and 11 appeared to be on a jolly from school, it wasn't hard to see why the moron stakes were upped.

Kids em daft.

In 1985/86/87 it was Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life... It was then hijacked by another group of fans, who stripped it of the irony and made it "their" song.

I'm possibly his biggest fan, but this song is a right stinker. Can someone rework Hello Darling by Tippa Irie?  ( one for the teenagers! )

Can we get Musical Youth out of retirement to write us a relegation anthem?

if its going to become an anthem it needs to include a verse or at least 6-8 lines of the song or it becomes tedious and annoying like palace (or whoever it is) that sing two lines of Mrs Robinson over and over and over. It makes them sound so stupid.

I'm working on an adaptation of 'Police Officer' by Smiley Culture (RIP).

Will report back.

Happy Talk in Captain Sensible mode would well suit the limited vocal range of our chaps, and conveys much the same sentiment.

I'm Villa Till I Die was very impressive last night, and I suppose the original lyrics could be restored and delivered in Figgis (James Bolam) mode to supply a sufficiently maudlin backdrop to proceedings. Or maybe Happy House by Siouxie and The Banshees should things go further pear shaped.

Can we not sing something from when Lee Perry was working with him? Or at a push, something off Catch a Fire?

Either way, we should go for a song featuring Aston (Villa) "Family Man" (Earl) Barrett.
