Take your minds back to when we lost Snake then Benteke, pretty much doom and gloom all around.
If someone had told me this was how our team was going to be structured, after the close of the window, I would have been jumping with delight.

Really? I would have been thinking 'Who the hell are this lot? I haven't heard of half of them".
Exactly as I feel about it.

While not all products of our own system arguably the best 3 I can ever recall. Tremendous potential amongst them. I just cannot wait to see all of them play together for a sustained run of games.

we could almost field a team of J's
Jores, Joe, Jed, Joleon, Jordan, Jordan, Jordan, Jack and Jose.
(Not even including Joe Bennett)

J. Steer

J. Crespo
J. Okore
J. Lescott
J. Bennett

J. Grealish
J. Veretout
J. Cole
J. Amavi

J. Ayew
??

Not a bad side considering.

I am optimistic about this squad, given time to gel. Some real quality players in there.

Jerrell Sellars for the last forward spot?  Probably as close to the first team as Steer right now.

Next JAN/SUMMER

OUT
Senderos
Joe Cole
Gabby
Richardson
Hutton
Kozak
N'Zogbia
Gardner

IN
Boilesen (LB) backup for amavi
Austin or Proven Goalscorer
CM
RB
Why on earth would you get rid of Kozak before he has at least had a chance to prove himself?
I think getting rid of Hutton isnt't exactly a priority either.

And for God's sake no to Boilesen.
The guy's been taking modesty lessons from Bendtner with less talent to back it up.

He pissed off Ajax with his attitude towards a new contract. He wanted them to break their wage structure and make him their highest paid player by something ridiculous like 25%.
Frank de Boer said, not happening, don't need that attitude in the squad, go and find someone who'll pay you what you want.
He's still at Ajax, who couldn't give him away.

Over the last 12 months I think we've
- improved the defence a lot - especially pace and physicality.
- upped the creativity hugely. I mean massively. It was awful before and now I think it's very good
- I think the base of the midfield looks as strong despite delph and Cleverley going
- we currently look significantly worse off at centre forward. Such a shame we didn't manage more of a proven striker at this level.

none of them have really done anything yet though, and I include Grealish in that statement. They all look to have potential, but for all the stick gabby gets, if we're talking about any of them in 10 yrs time having scored 60 goals then they'll have done alright. Vassell I always thought was the best of our youth system. Strange chap though. Kind of sums us up as a club really.
