Is there a Villa connection with him ?

He was on our books as a youth, I think.

and didn't a member of his family play for the Villa* and one of the home nations many years ago ?

*so no he didn't :)

googled
It was not quite a super Saturday for Jock Rutherford at the old Crystal Palace on 15 April, 1905. In the southern suburbs of the city where his great grandson would strike Olympic gold in front of 80,000 in 2012, the right winger lined up before 101,117 for that year's FA Cup final. He was on the losing side, Newcastle going down 2-0 to Aston Villa.

It's all well and good people having a laugh at Bolt getting wiped out by that twat on one Segway, but he could have done some really serious damage to Bolts legs.

Didn't he just have a trial with us?

He did have a trial with us around thirteen years old but wasn't that interested. He prefered Athletics and it looks as if he made the right choice.

Jeez that Dutch woman has run the fastest 200m of all time if you exclude drug cheat Marion Jones and Flo Jo (whose achievements are now questioned).

Well we have a time up there with known dopers, rapid improvement from average to worlds best, jaw like David Coulthard I believe that's a full house!. Athletics has and always has had a massive problem but no one gives a shit because there's too much money involved. Coe won't do anything to rock the apple cart. They'll cherry pick there Villains to hang out to dry and make a show of them and leave the rest to continue as normal.

Mo. Farah does it again! Brilliant.

In other news, the men's relay team lost the baton change at the final handover.
I thought they'd sorted that out after a few disasters some time ago.

We always seem to mess the baton change up in the men's 4x100. Shame as I think relays are my favourite. They should do a marathon relay.

It was a high jumper. Can't remember his name though. Jumped in his Villa socks.
