Rugby's just a game for fat blokes who are too unfit to play football.

Footballers earn £200k a week because football is a televised phenomenon. If so many people cared about Wherevertheyplaythisweek Wasps, they'd earn the same money. But they don't, for the same reason that the local Amateur Dramatic Society don't earn the same money as Johnny Depp.

If she has the money then surely she can't spend any of it without word getting around.

You will have to stick to watching those 200k a week Prima donnas mumbling the anthem then a piss poor performance.
Golden generation ??
3 lions on my shirt ???
I'm trying

If you love Rugby so much why are you posting on here, and not on Cauliflower Ears & Saracens?

Mind you, I bet the membership would rival TBAR's.

Sympathies and all that to his wife, but if the money is going into her account she must have some knowledge of its whereabouts, transferred to etc

That's what I was thinking. She will have seen statements unless she can prove otherwise and wondered where all that money had come from. She would have known something was up.

Golden generation, more like a fucking golden shower.
I too don't really dig rugby but I'll be a bit more grown up than some on here and say each to their own, if you like it good for you. And it's better than cricket, now that is fucking shit. :-)

As the great Stuart Maconie wrote, the only good thing about rugby is the opportunity to punch an off duty policeman or solicitor without fear of getting nicked.

Is this the case where the chap committed suicide?
The bloke in question is dead, not read of any inquest verdict ruling in a suicide. I'm not local so I could have missed it.
Without wanting to start any arguments, and acknowledging that it's easy for me to say as I'm not out of pocket. I don't think perusing his widow is particularly tasteful. (I may be using the wrong word there but you get my drift)  Some people are down some money, she has lost her husband and her kids have lost their Dad. I hope that thought will give people a sense of perspective.

Whilst feeling sorry for the bloke's widow, people have lost hundreds of pounds in some cases and should be entitled to pursue it.  It would be easy to identify the money, so it should simply be returned.

I agree entirely.

If the money really was paid to his wife, then she should be returning it.

Losing her husband must be terrible, of course, but I don't see how that makes it acceptable for her to be holding on to thousands of pounds of money he conned out of people.

He left it for her in his will?
