I'm sure it could all be sorted out without her having to do much.  The police can apply for permission to review the accounts and then it can be easily seen if the money is still there.  If David Scott sent it elsewhere before killing himself, then it may be difficult to track, but if not she's sitting on a pile of cash stolen from other people.  It's not her fault, but it's also not the fault of the people who were defrauded.  The distasteful act was stealing money off fans, I don't believe that discussing the efforts to try to get it back is distasteful.

My guess is that upwards of 120% of the proceeds of the various cons has already been spent.

This wasn't a small time guy making a few quid on the side, this was someone who systematically conned people.  These are huge sums of money which should be tracked down.  If the widow is involved she should be prosecuted.  If not, then she has nothing to worry about.

This.

Perusing widows is not tasteful under any circumstances.

😬

It takes all sorts I guess but perusing widows does seem a little distasteful.

As others have said, I'm not sure why there is any need for the widow to be inconvenienced in the slightest unless she was in receipt of any of the payments, in which case she's involved and will need to assist the police in recovering the monies. If I die tomorrow my debts will be passed to my next-of-kin. Why is that any less distasteful than this situation?

In the early days of the internet I lost money on some six nations tickets.
I put it down to experience and moved on.

That's easier to handle, though, on account of rugby being absolutely SHIT.

I don't look at it as the heartless harassment of a grieving widow, but rather legitimately pursuing a fraudster's estate for financial redress.  If there's nothing there, so be it, but at least allow those who were scammed the opportunity to exhaust all avenues in attempting to get their money back.

What's the big deal about the anthem? I wouldn't pay tuppence to watch fifteen men belt it out or mumble it. Anyway, England football games are nearly as shit as rugby.

There's a reason why footballers get £200 grand a week. They're playing a much better game.

percy
Villa till I die for me at club level but rugby all day long at international level. 200k a week cuz it's a better game or 200k a week cuz of sky.
Maybe we should start another thread
