Can't see us getting someone as good, so maybe a couple of good strikers will do the trick.  I think Austin has shown me enough to suggest that he is the real deal and is someone we could attract and Remy sounded like another good shout but the wages might be a bit high.  If not how's about a classic Spurs pairing of Lineker and Klinsmann? 8)

Destro would be better than all the in-house British options.

I don't know him.  Don't suppose his second name is "yallrobots"?

Even if we do not really want him put in a low bid for Saido Berahino just to upset WBA and really pee off their obnoxious fans.
Need some fun after today's turn of events, including the England test teams non-performance.
Hell we need a dirty tricks department trained in the black arts to get some pay back!! :)

I would love to see Charlie Austin at Villa.

I went off him when we were linked with him previously, whilst he was at Burnley, because he punched someone in a nightclub. He sounds like a bit of a tw*t to me.

Probably two sides to that story

Not as a replacement for Benteke but maybe for Weimann would be Gestede from Blackburn. Always thought he was a good player

Remy & Lambert would be a decent start.

I wouldn't be too impressed with Lambert and I wouldn't want to deal with them quite frankly after the way they've acted.

Remy's got the talent but I worry about his attitude. He would likely look down his nose at us and think we're not good enough for him.

I'm expecting us to continue down the track of the highly rated young players from foreign markets approach.

well I for one would rather an adventurous approach than the obvious. No to any Spurs player, no to Lambert (this season's Grant Holt) etc. Be bold Tim and Villa. We did it once with Benteke and we can do it again.

Lambert as a back up/member of the squad would work could see him doing something off the bench, but that's about it.  Without turning into Liverpool and Spurs of the past two years I think the answer is to sign two or three of decent quality who all offer different things rather than going for one player to replace him.

Has anyone on here seen much of that Mitrovic at Anderlecht?

Wilfred Bony M or Loic Remy

Remy's off to Palace.

Buying from within the English leagues, especially the Premier League, would be an incredibly stupid thing to do given the advantage the TV money gives us over European leagues this summer. This advantage won't last forever, so we really need to make use of it and stop the disastrous transfer policy which resulted in a team chasing the Champions League bringing on Marlon Harewood.

Bony and Austin would be my choice , not that it's going to happen. Gomis would be good too and that won't happen either.
