"There was only one side in it and they lost"

BFR on Sunderland as they somehow managed to lose 4-0 to Villa after a Mark Bosnich master class.

'Would you bet against us'?

P.s. Is my question mark in the correct place? I've often wondered.

I think not. Mr. Pedant says, "Would you bet against us?"
Correct berneboy.
Eddie: the question mark is part of the quotation so it goes inside the quotation marks.

I used to teach English...back in the day when we taught punctuation and stuff.

Don't get me started on the apostrophe!

Are you sure? Wouldn't the question mark inside quotation marks make it.."bet against us question mark"?

I don't remember it verbatim, but the one where JG was apologising for being top of the league.

We're not fickle,  we just don't like you. Not a sound bite.  I'm such a sugar bag.

I always liked that one - was in the old Trinity Road that day - Neville Southall's face as he's picking the ball out for the 5th and 6th goal was a picture !

"If there's not a better example of what football's all about, then I don't know what is - they could have been three nil down - and Peter With put that goal - absolutely brilliant"
(Brian Clough on us taking the lead in the ECF - after well - shall we say - quite a bit of Bayern Munich pressure in the proceeding 10 minutes).
