Reasons to buy a season ticket
« on: July 04, 2015, 12:51:51 PM »
After 20 years in the wilderness I have decided to become a season ticket holder once more however, I have not yet discussed this with Mrs Scully.
She will naturally think this is a bad idea and will challenge my decision for sure.
I need some cast iron reasons that will convince her that this is money well spent rather than spending it on a new garden fence or decorating the lounge.
Can you help me to negotiate this difficult conversation?

If the football is as awful as it has been over the last 3-4 seasons you'd be better off decorating the lounge then watching the paint dry. Hopefully it will be better this season under Sherwood and with the prospect of new owners. btw - we already have a season ticket thread

The only reason these days is to sit in same seat every game .....

You could buy tickets for every home game without one and still get a Cup Final ticket

Once purchased you are then forced in your own mind to go because the ticket is paid for ....and to be honest we have been dire at home for years inc the MON era

We will need tablets for depression this season because I am afraid I can't see anything other than a season of real struggle

My wife basically ordered me to sort mine out this morning to stop me agonising in her company
"Just f*****g buy one!" were her exact words

Didn't have one last season (protest thing - it worked! No need to thank me) and went to all but one home match and Wembley twice but seldom got to sit with my mates so back in K3 we go...

Quid pro quo perhaps. You get an ST and she gets rid of you/St for her as well/time for extra cleaning/cooking / car maintainence/overtime to help pay for your ST.

Endless reasons!

Because I love football, I'm passionate about the Villa, enjoy spending time with friends and family having a laugh and on occasion*, copious amounts of beer will be consumed.

*These 'occasions' are most home games in all reality.

Then, there's this. It never gets old.

Not to mention a Friday night, when the shops are shut, and her friends are out....

I have been doing about 6 or 7 home games a season.
I have to say that picture of a packed VP with the sun shining has done it for me. No negotiation needed, I am having it.

When you are sat in your own piss, in a dusty armchair, being patronised by a dumb care assistant, you will probably regret not doing so.

That and not sleeping with the au pair.

We will surely win more home games than the god awful last 5 seasons (it wasn't amazing under MON but at least we won more than 5 a season).

Sherwood has 3 wins out of 7 at home. I actually thought it was higher than that but counted the two Albion wins when one was in the cup.

In any case that's a slightly better ratio than what Lambert came up with so I'd fully expect 8-9 wins at home and considerably more goals so on that basis far better value than the last few seasons.

Ive got a season ticket and have had one for some time, I cant justify it to myself so Im not going to try with you. All I can say is that we are Villa and if I can see them play I will, however much I might moan about it afterward, its like heroin without the guaranteed high.
