Bomb Squad II
« on: June 01, 2015, 04:16:51 PM »
Given - Too old now,  thanks but on your way

Hutton - The moment we started to look better he looked worse - was never really good to begin with - it was really a measure of how shit others were

Cissokho - average at everything and seemingly made of glass

Senderos - as Cissokho

Herd - As both above

Lowton - Not good enough at this level add also Bennett, Luna

Cole - why we have wasted any money on him is beyond me

Nzogbia - 4 years you have had and we still don't know your actual position

Sylla - Good enough, Hole, arse, never, as long as, gonna be - arrange this to find all you need to know

Gabby - Mr Villa - yeah right - more like so shit no one else ever wanted you  - ever - time up charlatan

Weinmann - 4 years on and cannot command a regular place or even appearance as a playing sub - gone backwards from initial promise

That's nearly a full team but a team that has had its chances and simply not taken them

Time for change

I doubt we'll get Given and CNZ to give up their high paying gigs. They will never get another one so lucrative.

Vlaar and Westwood can go to and we can let Everton or some other mug punter to pick up the 3.5m p/a tab for Tommy Average.

So only leaves us about 15 players short for a top half finish.

All we needed to tick over post 2011 was 3-4 very good signings per year. Alas, we did nothing of the sort at any time.

Guzan/Delph re-signing, Benteke was all we had to show. Even Concrete Ron was not available often enough.

Welcome to the Tweenies:

Let relegation battle Number 6 commence in 10 weeks time.

The answer is simple

Continue to buy Championship players and journeymen - it is where eventually you will end up

Amazing the state of the squad.  Full of shit, and woefully short of reliable players also.

I can only think of two players in the entire squad that I would be upset to see go. One is Grealish and the other Benteke. And frankly if the money is right then the latter can go too.

The one player I would keep out of all them, above.

Joe Bennett, cuz he will come good imo.

Keep Guzan, Steer, Clark, Bacuna, Okore, Delph, Sinclair, Grealish.
Sell as many of the rest as possible. I'm resigned to losing Benteke. He'd be barking mad to stay at this disaster zone.

I like Baker. My only concern is injuries. We've got too many sicknotes. I'd be getting pretty brutal with the weeding myself. The squad is a state.

Let's be brutally honest here.

We have centre backs that are

Senderos - always injured
Vlaar - always injured
Clark - picks up injuries and is Ok
Okore - picks up injuries and is Ok
Baker - always injured

Not a good start for a balanced, consistent defence.

Fullbacks are

Bacuna - Cannot defend
Hutton - Picks up injuries
Cissokho - Picks up injuries
Bennett - Built like a 7 yr old, cannot defend
Lowton - Cannot defend
Stevens - Looks shit in the Championship
Luna - Cannot defend

The entire backline needs an overhaul, the only time we've looked even remotely competent at the back was by commiting no men forwards and being as boring as Greece. The defence is abysmal and spending half a decade of buying lower league punts, foreign gambles and perennially injured chancers has got us what we currently have now.

To quote some spoilt Arsenal fans a few years ago

SPEND SOME FACKING MANEY!

Sylla signed a three and half year contract in January 2013. So yes, and will be next year as well.

Herd signed a four year contract under McLeish, so he's out of contract this summer.

Apparently Tim's been impressed with him since he came back.
I happen to like him, I'd certainly give him some extra time to prove himself.

I hope the club have learnt that completely isolating players doesn't really work when it comes to getting rid of them.

Don't rate Delph then?
