Best part of a million a game i'd have thought. If you go 30K+ and an average of say £30 a head. Obviously a lot less than the TV deal, but not to be sniffed at either.

that's not just season tickets though is it, that is also the fan who attends on a match by match basis. I don't know how many season ticket holders we have, say 20,000 for ease. Average season ticket price, £450?

so season ticket receipts are approx. £9m. Half the season ticket price and it costs the club £4.5m without taking into account increased ticket sales and increased match day revenue assuming that the overall average attendance receives a boost.

I would say that £4.5m is fairly minimal compared to overall turnover.

Of course there has to be taken account of the fact that some of the match by match attendees will then become season ticket holders. I am sure that the club model all of the out meaning that I am talking bollocks :-)

But, longer term, with the value for money offered and the positive publicity, I am sure that the average attendance would rise. We play to a half empty (exaggeration) stadium - that can't help the players or make us more attractive to be a pick for tv games etc

It is minimal compared to the TV deal, but another way to look at it is that £4.5m is another Okore. I'm sure Dave has said before that more often than not, cheaper tickets down the Villa don't equate to a significant increase in attendance.

If it was that easy every club would do it.

What puzzles me is how the Young Adults/Students/Armed Forces are more expensive in, the Holte Wings than in the central areas where the adults are more expensive.

They would see price cutting as a non starter as it would damage the brand / product and the the overall hoax we are all living under of the PL being such a bastion of brilliant football.

Plus we're already one of the cheapest to watch.

as per my original post though, that is largely irrelevant, they aren't in competition for my money or the majority of other potential season ticket holders money. I'm not going to start going down the Albion if they are half the price of ours but I may stop going to the Villa if I don't think it is worth the price

Well it isn't irrelevant as our average attendance wouldn't be much different if ST were £50 less as an example. So lowering prices when we are already cheaper than most will ultimately mean less money and no noticeable increase in attendance.

You could say that it would be good CS or whatever to lower prices, but you could also say it's good CS that our prices are so 'cheap' in comparison to other clubs.

Second worst home record in the Premier League innit? The fact that our tickets aren't the most expensive still doesn't mean that they represent good value. Unless you're coming to watch the opposition beat us. Maybe that's why we have a relatively low number of season ticket holders?

Probably because we are such a diverse city that has more than just football as an activity. Compared to the likes of Sunderland Newcastle liverpool and Manchester

Apart from a few seasons under MON our ratio has always been among the worst. Whether finishing 6th or 16th.
