I wonder if it is something to do with witton lane stand. The ad hoardings are very low anyway but there are also gaps to allow supporters onto pitch presumably as an emergency exit. The problems at Albion game were albio fans surged through one of these gaps to get at villa fans. All police and stewards were then preoccupied with stopping them and that's why there were no stewards in front of villa fans.

Quote from: Tony Erdington on March 22, 2015, 04:09:04 PMstewards are there to watch the match, simple, stopping fans getting on the pitch, "what the fuck"yThat idea's about twenty years out of date. Our stewards might not be perfect but they're about the best there is.

Those at Villa one week will be at the Sty or Hawthorns the following week.
I went to a match yesterday which kicked off at 5, most of the 80,000 crowd were drunk and yet there was no segregation, trouble or fans on the pitch. It's not as if the game wasn't important either. It can be done.

What about splitting the allocation between upper Witton and upper North Stand?
Quote from: Mortimer's Bear on March 22, 2015, 05:41:03 PMWhat about splitting the allocation between upper Witton and upper North Stand?Upper North Stand holds about 4,000 so that would give away fans a massive chunk of seating.
