You don't actually have to be old to legally be a grandparent of a 16 year old. If you become a parent at 16 years and 9 months old, and then that child also becomes a parent at 16 years and 9 months, then you will be a grandparent at 33 years and 6 months old! Continue adding 16 years, 9 months and you are a great-grandparent at 50 years, 3 months, great-great-grandparent at 67. Does that make you feel better or worse, Dave?

I didn't know that there were laws as to when people could have kids.

Whilst it wouldn't be recommended for two 13 years olds to produce a kid, I don't think that it would be against the law.

The reality, of course, is that the large part of the nation who don’t take their footballing cue from the tabloids and Five Live will be supporting first Blackburn, then Villa.

This reminds me of the day Denis Law, by now playing for Citeh, scored the goal that sent Man U down in 1974. The radio commentator (Peter Jones?) was in despair, almost speechless: "And United are relegated. What a tragedy for Manchester United, what a tragedy for English football" or something similar. The reality was that all over the country fans were jumping up and down: "Yesssss!"

I missed the league game against Albion as my daughter gave birth that day - she doesn't appreciate taking second place to Villa, even though I wasn't at the birth, for family reasons I needed to appear to be available.  I missed the quarter final as that was the first opportunity to see my latest grandchild.
