Re: Questions From Newcastle Fans

Hi lads, i'm from toonforum.co.uk and we like to ask opposition fans a set of questions to use in our pre match build up. I've been on here before and got a good response. Here are the questions:

1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? 17th What about Newcastle? 15th
2 – What are your thoughts on Tim Sherwood? Absolute clown of a man, very much a temporary appointment I suspect
3 – Is your lack of goals due to not creating chances? Or just from being poor in front of goal? Both, midfielders not creating chances and forwards not good enough to create for themselves. No threat from out wide and assist/goal stats from midfielders are abysmal
4 – Do you think the club should have kept Darren Bent? No, has been awful since Lambert came in and was right decision to get rid. Hasnt been the same player since ankle injury in 2012. Stunned with his impact at Derby but they play a positive brand of football where forwards will get chances.
5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
6 – Who do you think will be the three clubs to get relegated? And who will make up the top four? Leicester, QPR, Burnley. Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Liverpool
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? A biscuit type that you might find at your grandparents. Ones you used to like, especially when younger. You still eat them for some reason out of habit more than anything else. But at this stage they do you more harm than good.
8 – What is the general mood among Villa fans? Has it contributed to falling home attendances? Its got to the stage where relegation doesnt have the same fear it used to. Five consecutive relegation battles will do that, getting progressively worse each season. Crap football has been awful to watch for years now and general apathy abounds.
9 – Have Newcastle made a mistake by waiting until the summer to appoint a permanent manager? No, you got have got stuck with a Tim Sherwood type. Far better candidates available in the summer. Not sure if they will in interested in working for Mike Ashley though where EPL survival like at Villa seems the primary aim.
10 – Scoreline prediction? 1-1

Thanks in advance

This term "busted flush" for Darren bent is quite ridiculous . We are crying out for a goal scorer , he's the clubs record signing and he's been sent to coventry following a fall out with the ex-manager and he's banging the goals in.
Ridiculous scenario.
Agree entirely, Bent should have been re-called immediately, not only to put pressure on a mis-firing forward line, but because he is A PROVEN GOALSCORER who was trated badly by PL, he is a player who needs regular football to retain his sharpness, a game here-and-there doesnt work for him. we`ve missed him, no doubt about it.

Darren Bent has now filled the void left by Nigel Reo-Coker and other 'absolute shite/why aren't they playing, they're exactly what we're missing' players of our past.

The main issue is of course the lack of supply to the forwards. We rarely cross from midfield and our fullbacks, particularly Cissokho, cannot cross accurately or with purpose. If those issues were addressed then Bent could be useful. Not more so than Benteke, though and probably no more useful than Weimann. I have never seen a team so anaemic in terms producing attacking threats through crosses and meaningful passes and until that is addressed, all talk of Bent, Benteke's form and Weimann and Gabbys' (lack of) ability is probably pointless.

I just don't think we should be loaning out strikers with our paucity of forward options and atrocious goals for column.

Darren Bent's top-flight credentials are shown by the long queue of Premier League clubs lining up to sign him.

In Bizarroworld on Villains and Heroes, you should see the debate they are having on us having loaned out Gabby Agbonlahor to a team in the second tier while Darren Bent continues to stink out the first XI. It's getting quite heated. Or cooled down, being Bizarroworld of course.

How many times does it have to be said that he can't be recalled?

72, 81 and 103 in the sweepstakes.
103 looks good to me.

1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? Wembley. Not sure about Newcastle, but it'll be the week before we finish.
2 – What are your thoughts on Tim Sherwood? Clueless judging by last week's game. As good a manager as Alan Shearer probably
3 – Is your lack of goals due to not creating chances? Or just from being poor in front of goal? It's a protest against the introduction of goal-line technology
4 – Do you think the club should have kept Darren Bent? We kept him longer than he deserved
5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? Damien Duff. Imagine the fun we could all have laughing about that own goal.
6 – Who do you think will be the three clubs to get relegated? And who will make up the top four?A Midlands club, Burnley & QPR. Usual names at the top.
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? Cadbury Dairy Milk Golden Crunch. Because Cadburys chocolate is mined locally.
8 – What is the general mood among Villa fans? Has it contributed to falling home attendances? Content. Life doesn't get better than winning the European Cup, everything after that is just passing time really.
9 – Have Newcastle made a mistake by waiting until the summer to appoint a permanent manager? Your mistake was not appointing Ant or Dec when we told you to.
10 – Scoreline prediction? Deluded barcode wearers 0 The Villa 2.

Superb !!!!

1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle?

17th-14th for us. I am not too sure with you. It can be a funny thing not having anything really to play for, which coupled with a manager you know wont be around in the summer, is hardly motivational for the players. Somewhere between 13th and 10th.

2 – What are your thoughts on Tim Sherwood?

He reminds me of John Gregory a great deal.

3 – Is your lack of goals due to not creating chances? Or just from being poor in front of goal?

We have played very negatively for some time, often isolating Betneke, whose confidence has ebbed away as a result.

4 – Do you think the club should have kept Darren Bent?

Bent has been finished as Premier League player for some time. Scoring goals against 2nd Division sides will do nothing to change my opinion.

5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?

Its a toss up between Steve Hodge and Stuart Downing. My spare room would involve a watering can and a hessian bag.

6 – Who do you think will be the three clubs to get relegated? And who will make up the top four?

Leicester, QPR and Burnley to go. Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City to make the top four.

7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?

We’d be a rich tea at the moment, but with the potential to hit the Hob-Nob stakes if we have finally found a competent manager, after the past four disasters.

8 – What is the general mood among Villa fans? Has it contributed to falling home attendances?

With the club up for sale and the owner disinterested, Lambert being given a four year deal helped create a sense of hopelessness, that there would be nothing to alter the status quo.

We have great home crowds when you look at how awful we have been at Villa Park. We’ve won a pathetic 13 in three seasons. Not too many clubs would be getting 30,000 to watch that garbage.

9 – Have Newcastle made a mistake by waiting until the summer to appoint a permanent manager?

It depends on what the general expectations of Newcastle fans are. From Ashley’s point of view, no, as you’re not going to get any higher than 10th and you’re not going to get relegated, so why spend the money now?

If you’re a fan however and being asked to still purchase tickets to follow your side play some pretty craven football, then you’re less likely to agree that writing off half a season is acceptable.

10 – Scoreline prediction?

1-3 Villa. You’ll boo them off at half time and full time. Carver flapping his gums isn’t too smart.

We’ll be singing what the fuck is going on, as we struggle to comprehend our side actually scoring.

Thanks in advance

No worries.

There is no doubt we took the piss, but what I'd like to know is HOW would they've expected us to act ? Light candles and start humming?

It was fairly mild. The Ant and Dec banner and We'll Meet Again.

Tge Geordies were resigned to their fate some weeks before. Well the ones I know.
