I'd be in trouble if I booked that.

Correct link http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~4458187,00.html

Food there will be better than the vast majority of other places folks will be visiting that night.

I took my wife to VMF at Villa Park for Valentines Day six or seven years ago (yes, I have taken her out for Valentines since) and it was a really good night with good food. My bluenose next door neighbour wasn't impressed when I praised him for supporting VMF by having those letters as the last three on his number plate.

I'll be at the VMF on the 13th.
Looks a fabulous setting with excellent food.
When I did the VP tour, the tour guide was saying that Abramovich (?) uses it when Chelsea are in town.

I'm struggling with that one to be honest.

When I did the tour it was being set up for evening. It was proper 'Downton Abbey' the way they were setting the tables out.
The tour guide said that the VMF is closed to the public on match days as it's where the directors and dignitaries dine.
I can't imagine this or the Abramovich story being made up.

Doesn't VMF just use one of the corporate areas, ie McGregors or the Directors Suite? It's not a separate area is it?

Ah got you know . Sorry I had visions of Mr & Mrs Abramovich in VMF on a Friday night before the game.
Yes on a match day in the directors area if he's at the game. Wonder if he will be there tomorrow with his private army .

My colleagues took me when I retired in July.
I was massively impressed.
Even more so were my colleagues who initially couldn't get their heads around "good food" in a football stadium. (one young lady was going to turn up in t-shirt and jeans...I advised her not to)
The food, wine, service, all round experience was outstanding.
At least two of them have been back with their other halves since and still reckon it's one of Birmingham's hidden gems.

(It is used by the directors and guests on match days.)

Really good wine list, but special offers include tip top stuff they buy in specially to go with the food being served to directors/guests. Any surplus is then offered to diners at knock down prices. So, we had £40/50 wine for £10/15.
Again, my colleagues were very impressed.

Not quite on topic but since VMF started, I've been there for every Mothers Day, taking three mothers along (mine, my wife and daughter). My daughter is the only Villa fan so it took a lot of persuading to get the other two there for the first one but they were so impressed they now refuse to go anywhere else. Quality of food and service are excellent and what can you say about the view which hasn't already been said. On the quiet, I look forward to Mothers Day more than all three of them put together.

The first of several times that we went to VMF my wife sat in the same seat that Delia Smith had frequented the previous weekend; regrettably, her cooking hasn't improved since. ;)
