What we're seeing in the original post is the last stage of the Kübler-Ross model of the five stages of grief: acceptance. Before we start trying to convince ourselves that all is lost, and that somehow that's not so bad, and that life will actually be better after the seismic failure of relegation, we need to remind ourselves that we're not dead and buried yet. Not quite.It's a very real danger, make no mistake about that, but the irresponsible idiots running the club can still pull this one around. If they don't then relegation will be an unmitigated disaster which doesn't bear thinking about. Let's not insult the memory of the people who built this club - the likes of McGregor, Ramsay, Rinder, et al - by talking up second-tier football. It's shit and it isn't what this club is for.
