A hole in one for Jack in the Par 3 competition.

Eldrick played in it as well for the first time

To be fair I think the Masters is like Wimbledon as being the most significant and memorable of all the majors.

More than The Open?

Yes, Thres something about The Masters.

The Azaleas, Amen Corner, the (now deceased) Eisenhower tree, tees that thread through narrow fairways lined with spruce trees, Caddies in white jump suits, the Green Jacket, Greg Norman imploding in the play off, just a brilliant tournament.

It's all just so false and manufactured and has a terrible record regarding human rights even in recent times.  The course can't even claim to be original, it's most famous holes, Amen Corner are copies of Harry Colt's Stoke Park.  The greens and fairways are painted in places for TV for the Masters week.

What pisses me off even more is people calling The Open, The British Open.  It's The Open.

Augusta is a spectacular golf course. I've been twice, 2011 and 2013 and TV doesn't do it justice at all. If you want to see how an event is perfectly run then try and go just once. It is immaculate in every conceivable way. And even things like food and drink, which at most sporting events is outrageous is ridiculously priced. Basically for $10-20 you can be pretty well fed and lubricated. It's about $1.50 for a sandwich, $2 for a beer. Even the gift shop is run with such precision that while the line up always looks long you're through it really quickly.

The course is about as hilly as it comes, and pretty much none of the lies are truly flat. The fairways aren't cut as short as some championship courses so combined with the length of the course makes it all the more impressive when you see some of the scores that guys have put up. This is a tournament that at the end of everything basically makes $6-8m a year clean. It is only open 3-4 months of the year and obviously is a very private members club. Yes, it has been associated with being male only and segregation but under Billy Payne it has become more open given its public status. It's not like the Royal & Ancient have been the most open society.

While I can appreciate the history of the The Open, I absolutely love The Masters. It signals the start of spring, and promise of good weather and gold a top notch sporting event. If you love golf and you ever get a chance to go, then go and enjoy!

I always think Fowler is an excellent bet for a top 5 finish.

Don't forget that whilst every other tournament has spectators, The Masters has 'Patrons'

Coverage or commentary?

The coverage is the same for every network, The Masters only allow 1 feed and they control what gets shown.
