PL is a joke - another unwanted record ready to be set. Sorry to upset you Paul with all the criticism.... I agree, what's there to be critical about? Why can't we have a 'normal' chairman? Any 'normal' chairman would've sacked Lambo 2 years ago.

Its not'just'the formation or forward line- the lack of goals throughout the team stinks of poor coaching/cowardice/lack of ability.

I'd expect each centre-half to weigh in with 3-5 in a season.
Fullbacks contribute 2-3 each.
5 a piece from the centre midfielders.
5-7 from wide midfielders/wingers (if we had 'em).
Forwards 10-20 a piece.

No wonder we're struggling.

At the high end we'd score 80 goals... and nearly win the league at the low end 60 goals something we've done once in 30 years in the top flight. It's just not gonna happen, we've never been a high scoring team in my lifetime, always seemed to have better defenders than attackers.

Yep we've always been good defensively, apart from a few seasons since I've been a Villa fan, it's always been midfield where I think we've struggled. I think I read of the ever presents in the Premier League we've bu far the highest percentage of draws of those 7 clubs. We're often hard to beat but never have quite enough up the other end.

66/1 with Bet365 to not hit 20 goals
Whereabouts is that on bet365 ? Is it under "specials"?
Genuine question. Can't find it.

5 April 2008   Derby 0  AV 6;  12 April 2008  AV 5  Blues 1

That's 11 goals in 2 games!!!!

And I think we scored 5 against Bolton in the game before that

And didn't win any of the 8 games either side of those 3. As a famous philosopher once said, "it's a funny old game."

At best Gabby and Weimann might get 1 or 2 more apiece with a misfiring Benteke getting 4 to 5 more and with 1 or 2 more from others we might just break Derbys 20 goal record, was amazed when I checked that Derby only won 1 game that season and amassed 11 points, we are already on 22 points so how shit hot are we?
