Villa (and Leicester) charged with failing to control players
« on: January 13, 2015, 05:25:19 PM »
Charged by the FA for the fisticuffs at the end of Saturday's game.

I don't think we need to worry about qualifying for Europe via the Fair Play League this season.

We can't really complain about this one too much really.

True. The Manyew one was a load of bollocks though.

Hopefully they'll punish us by banning our manager from the stadium.

Yes it was, especially when I saw several Chelsea players surround the ref last Saturday.

Red cards, brawls, berating of referees (no matter the decision), misconduct charges..

What club is this, and who's taking steps to change it?

To be honest though this is the kind of stuff certain other clubs do regularly without rebuke.  The referees and by extension the FA have made a rod for their own back in this regard with the spineless response to the antic of Man U (and others) in the 90s.  What we now have is a generation that grew up seeing the likes of Keane trying to ref the game themselves and thinking that it's acceptable.

This charge isn't about surrounding the ref..........Its about all the pushing and shoving when Clark left the pitch and when all the subs, backroom staff pushed each other and that does not happen at every game

Both Aston Villa and Leicester City have been charged by the Football Association for their players' behaviour during their match on 10 January.

It is alleged that during added time at the end of the second half both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour.

So, what was the charge against Man U about?

The disciplinarians hate us this season, don't they.

Leicester and Aston Villa have been charged by the Football Association over the conduct of their players.

The charge relates to an incident during Leicester's 1-0 win over Villa last Saturday, and clubs have until 18:00 GMT on 16 January to respond

Leicester's Matty James and Villa's Ciaran Clark were sent off in the game.

An FA statement said the clubs "failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour".

Players clashed on the pitch following a tackle by James on Jores Okore and there was then a confrontation between the benches as the players walked off at full time.

If Villa are found guilty it will be the club's third FA fine this season.

They were fined £20,000 and £30,000 for failing to control their players in games against Tottenham and Manchester United respectively.

As a result of shit reffing - so, are the reffs being censured as well?

Leicester fined £20,000 over brawl during home win over Aston Villa

• City admits charge after Saturday’s league game
• Villa case to be heard later after two earlier charges and fines

PA - Friday 16 January 2015 17.31 GMT

Leicester City have been hit with a £20,000 fine from the Football Association after a mass brawl at the end of Saturday’s Premier League home victory against Aston Villa.

The incident occurred after a challenge by Leicester’s Matty James on Villa’s Jores Okore. Villa’s Ciaran Clark reacted by knocking the Foxes midfielder off his feet.

As the duo pulled each other’s shirts, players from both sides surrounded them and became involved in a melee at the end of which James and Clark were each shown a red card.

City admitted an FA charge of failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour, resulting in the fine.

Villa have admitted the same charge. However, their case is to be heard by an Independent Regulatory Commission in due course.

It is the third time this season Villa have been hit with such a charge following similar incidents in the matches with Spurs on 2 November and Manchester United on 20 December, resulting in £20,000 and £30,000 fines respectively.

So a £60,000 fine this time. Maybe it's time that someone sat down with the players and explained we need to stop doing this. I appreciate it might show they're up for the fight, but it's still not acceptable to keep losing control like this.

Lambert should pay this, he's the one who is paid to control them
