Some I've just put together looking through statto.com

Start with one from today:

Goals scored in Premier League on first day of 2015 - 33
Goals scored by Aston Villa in the whole of 2014 - 33

Win Ratio:

P108 W32 D26 L50 = 29.63%

Records for bad runs:

AVFC longest ever run of league games without a clean sheet 26 - 15.12.2012 to 14.09.2013
AVFC joint record for longest ever run of home league games without a clean sheet, 16, 26.12.2012 to 26.10.2013 (equalling the worst, 16.02.1935 to 16.11.1935)
AVFC joint longest run of consecutive home league games in which we fail to score, 08.12.2012 to 12.01.2013 - 4

Getting spanked:

AVFC highest ever losing margin in an away league match: 8, Chelsea 8 Aston Villa 0, 23.12.2012

Home shitness:

2012-13 5 home wins, a record only worsened once since 1890-1 (122 years), which was 2011-12.
2013-14 6 home wins, a record only worsened in 2012-13 and 2011-12 in the last 122 years
2014-15 2 home wins from 10 played currently, on course for 4 wins.

Win and lose ratios:
Has managed us for 47 home league games, record W13 D12 L22 - win ratio = 26% lose ratio = 46%

Goal difference:

2012-13 and 2013-15 goal difference was -22, with exception of 86-7, our worst since 1975 (and maybe further, I don't have figures before that point)

Points tallies:

2012-13 finished with 41 points. Since three points for a win introduced in 1981, have done worse than that only three times.
2013-14 finished with 38 points. Since three points for a win introduced in 1981, have done worse than that only once.

I assume 5 home wins in 1890 wouldnt have been in a 20 team league?

I will draft a letter to the CEO and include these stats.  By any measure they are truly shocking, even allowing for limited transfer funds, young and hungry policies, enforced bomb squad fiascos and anything else you want to throw in as an even marginal defence.

Gregory or Turner/McNeill will be contenders on the attendance front/ Gregory took us from 36K to 31K 2 years running.

The only person who can sack Lambert is Lerner and he seems to be totally oblivious to what the supporters are saying, we are to blame as well because all it needed was a couple of half decent displays for many to change their minds and say that Lambert should be given more time, thats after three years of absolute dross.
I feel a bit sorry for McCleish now as i think he was a better manager than this clown, the only positive i can come up with for Lambert is that he seems to be able to spot a decent player but that is countered by he knows how to destroy decent players. The squad is decent the problem is the manager until he goes we are in trouble and the only way we will get him out is for the Holte end to turn big time.

I am still fairly pro Lambert but I would not use limited transfer funds as any kind of excuse. Lerner has many faults but he has consistently given lambert between 15 and 20 odd million a season and I expect him to do the same again this. A fair amount of Premier League teams would love our transfer budget.
