Ridiculous. It was not Villa players who were surrounding the ref but the other lot FFS.

As for Gabby hanging around. He just stood by, incredulous, like everyone. Then finally went back in to make sure Young was actually ok and left.

Ash Young said it was wrong. Van Gaal more or less said it was wrong. The entire TV audience worldwide could see it was wrong.

Except for the crew on ESPN FC (Steve Nicol, Shaka Hislop and Alejandro Moreno) who were all certain it was a straight red and that the ref was correct.  ::)

Very pleased. This calls for a cracker a wedge of cheese and quince.

If our players behaviour was unacceptable, then he should have booked them for dissent at the time. If this is another decision he got wrong, then how on earth is Lee Mason escaping action?

Read all about it in Conan Doyle's "The Great Mystery of Shit Refs and How They Never Seem to be Accountable for Their Actions".
The vocab's a bit dated, the characters completely OTT, but the twists and turns in the plot are fascinating!

Merry Christmas amfy!

Football Association fines Aston Villa £30,000

By Liam Apicella, Features Editor

The Football Association has issued Aston Villa with a fine of £30,000 for failing to control their players during a clash against Manchester United earlier this month.

Villa were hit with the charge last week, which related to the conduct of several players following the dismissal of Gabriel Agbonlahor for a challenge on United full-back Ashley Young.

Agbonlahor has since won his appeal against the decision to send him off, but Villa have still received a monetary punishment.

The governing body has also warned the club about their conduct going forward.
