We'll score first through Benteke, sit back on our lead and allow Palace to win 2-1.

On the plus side i'm confident we'll score. On the downside i'm not very confident we'll score more than one, and even less confident well keep a clean sheet. I dread of think of what our CB pairing will be if Clark is out.

If the CB 's are all injured it will be -

Lowton.     Okore.    Hutton.     Cissoko.

Swap Lowton and Hutton, hasn't Matt played in the centre before? Not sure if Hutton has.

About time Benteke delivered a performance for us. Weimann probably has done enough to stay in the side. Gabby to miss out it seems.

Aston Villa have not won away to Crystal Palace since the title winning season i.e. in 34 years during which the tie has been played 11 times. The league cup defeat 20 years ago did for Ron Atkinson. Going to south east London at night simply freaks out any coaches and players involved with naive Brummy Villa.

I remember going there for I think (and I stand correct) Dwight Yorke's debut as sub in around 1990. We lost 1-0. I think Gary Thompson scored for them.

I honestly think we will draw all games up until the annual Manure debacle

I would bring Benteke back in and drop Weimann to the bench.  Although he tired in the 2nd half, I would start with Cole in the first half and take the game to them.  I would try and get Gabby to put everything into the first half and then replace him with Weimann and replace Cole early in the 2nd half with Richardson.  If this was a game plan from the start, they ought to be able to take the game to them again in second half.

If we are going to get anything out of the game, we have to play on the front foot and get out of this habit of conceding ground and letting the opposition have so much of the ball as the game goes on.

Selhurst Park was the final game for both Atkinson and Brian Little, but both were against Wimbledon.
