If this becomes official, it will be odd as Lowton played ok when Hutton was out.

Best crosser at the club, makes Benteke look 10 times more threatening. So lets fuck him off out then.

I can only imagine that he's fallen out with Lambert because it certainly doesn't make any sense from a football perspective but then again, what does make sense in the parallel universe of planet Lambert.

This is the player he bought and which consigned Hutton to the bomb squad.

Now Hutton is back and Lowton is off.

Is there another source for this story?

Eatsleepsport 13 hours ago:
Quote
Matthew Lowton is said to be attracting the interest of Wigan as the Championship side consider a loan move for the Villa defender. With the emergency loan window set to shut on Thursday, Latics boss Malky Mackay is said to be weighing up a late move …

express and star 11 hours ago in the rumours section:
Quote
Aston Villa full-back Matthew Lowton could attract loan interest from the Championship this week, with new Wigan Athletic boss Malky Mackay among those keen.

It would be weird if true.

Yes but he is a complete liability in defence. Not saying you're wrong but his first duty is to defend and he is really bad at that.

My first reaction on hearing this was,it's  all down  to Learner saving money anyway he can. However this is management Lambert style and nothing he does makes sense,so it is no great surprise !

Perhaps a clearing of the decks (and wages) so we can bring Wes Hoolihan or Michael Owen in on loan in January? Bent and now Lowton. I can hardly contain my excrement, sorry, excitement.

Didnt impress when given a chance lately and lets face it he really isnt up to it in the division we are currently in.

Who plays there if Hutton gets injured (again)?

Bacuna? Who isn't really a right back, and hasn't been seen for months.
I wonder if he may view Okore as a potential back up on the right. Quick, good on the ball and has played there for his previous club apparently. He'd also provide physical presence on the right which we miss when Hutton's out. A Gnats guff could blow Lowton over.

Okore has played on the right of a 3 lots, as  FCN's trainer had this weird idea about tactics and flexibility, but would have only played at full-back in an absolute emergency as they had 2 decent (by Danish league standards) right backs for most of his time there.

I find it incomprehensible that that the supposition arises constantly that this player or that player has fallen out of favour with Lambert. If only a fraction of the player dissent is true it reveals area of management where he is failing miserably.

Are there any areas of management where he isn't failing miserably Brian?

The number of Lambert signings that come in and then go out is bizarre and is especially a curse that seems to apply to full backs.

As as a full back, he's not good enough for the Premier League, so I'm not sad to see this news.  It'll be good for him I'd imagine.  But it is a weirdly timed decision as we can't sign a back up until January.
