I assume Lambert won't take this seriously and will put out a weakened side.

Would you risk starting Grealish against this bunch of cloggers? And Bent still won't score.

I was thinking of playing Harry's wife up front instead

I like Aston FC and might start following them.
Anyone know here they play home matches?

The non league team confused with Aston Villa have jokingly warned the misfiring Premier League club: "Leave our star striker alone!"

Aston FC, of the Midlands Football League division two, were mixed up with Paul Lambert's claret and blues on a leading fixtures website.

Chairman Mohammed Juned admits his team which plays at Coleshill Town's Pack Meadow ground, is a world away from the riches of professional football.

But he has joked that Aston FC star striker Jem Mills, who has scored seven goals in 11 games, could do a job for Aston Villa's shot shy strikeforce.

Villa have scored just four goals in eight Premier League matches, have failed to find the net in seven hours and 21 minutes of action, with Andi Weimann their leading marksman on two goals.

“They’re not having Jem!” smiled Mohammed, whose team play at step 7 of the national non league pyramid.

“He’s a good guy, he works as a care worker in the week.

“We’ve got scaffolders, bricklayers, electricians and you’re more likely to see a Vauxhall Corsa in our car park than a Bentley!

“We’re only a small club but we’ve got some good players and hopefully this bit of fun and exposure will boost our crowds a bit.”

Currently, Aston FC attract crowds which are more 'one man and his dog' than Premier League.

While Villa have players on million pound salaries, Aston FC hold fundraising events to pay a local launderette to wash their kits.

The comparison between the two clubs came about after a case of mistaken identity on www.soccerbase.com, who got Aston Villa mixed up with Aston FC.

In their fixtures they listed Villa - instead of Aston FC - playing away at Pegasus Junior in the FA Vase first round proper.

“We played a team called Leicester Road FC the other week, so I thought it could have come about through people mistaking Leicester v Aston as a Premier League fixture," smiled Mohammed.

“But then I found out they had listed Aston Villa as playing in the FA Vase instead.

“If they played our fixture they’d get a bit of a culture shock - the main difference would probably be the crowd - we get 30 or 40 people rather than 30,000!

“I think Villa play Tottenham at Villa Park that weekend, so we’ll gladly swap them and play that match instead - especially as I’m a Tottenham fan!"

Aston FC, who rent Coleshill Town’s Pack Meadow ground, are currently top of Midland League Two after winning five and drawing six of their 11 games so far this season, scoring 27 goals and conceding 12.

Aston Villa, who are 12th in the Premier League, hosted the FA Vase final at Villa Park in 2001 and 2002.

Anybody wishing to witness Aston FC in action can watch them at home to Feckenham on Saturday, November 8. Admission is £2.

Thanks but gone off them now since hearing their Chairman is a Spuds fan.

Our last amateur player came to us from Pegasus.   Mike Pinner, goalkeeper.
