You always get strange scores early in the season. You don't know what sort of team we put out.

As someone suggested on here the other day ,you really do hate anything said against the club dont you mr woodhall . We lost SIX nil, to the tesco bags!!!. It might be acceptable to you,but to someone who goes to most reserve and youth games ,its not to me. Await your usual snide remark ,as you always have to have the last word.

Could someone please, in  all seriousness, suggest what's wrong with the sentence "You don't know what sort of team we put out"?

It is the start of a new season, whatever team we put out,i would expect it to compete with a team like West Brom ,who rightly or wrongly i think of as a smaller club . No problem with losing, but 6-0 ?

I do. It was a mix of 16, 17 and 18 year olds as part of the scholarship procedure.

A scoreline like that is never good, but not entirely unknown (I remember scoring ten against Arsenal reserves a few year ago, much good it did us in the long-term). Albion might have a phenomenally good crop of kids this year like Southampton or Middlesbrough have had, we might have put out in effect a reserve youth side, it might have been our first years against their second  years. You don't know and throwing out insults at anyone who doesn't regard it as a hanging offence is a bit daft.

Where was the insult mr woodhall ? i never said anything insulting ,unless you mean the bit about you always making snide remarks and having the last word. Was'nt Saunders-Heroes saying the same thing about you on Saturday ?

Well, you did imply that:

1. He'll never let anyone criticise the club
2. He makes snide remarks.
3. He insists on having the last word.

All of which are pretty insulting, really. The fact someone else said it doesn't mean it is no longer an insult.

I find anyone who gets worked up about a defeat at U-18s level a bit sad really.
95% or so of these players, historically, won't make it into our first team and of those that do maybe one of them will become an established first teamer, and that is the sort of stats we have had when we won youth cups!

In what way do you think this is a constructive way to discuss something?

You might want to think about not insulting people if you want to hang around here.

Each to their own but I would rather judge the youth structure by how many kids make it through to the first team.

I think there's now a realisation that we've spent too much time chasing youth & reserve trophies at the expense of player development.
