Amos beat Rudisha!

And, also running and wheeling through the rain, several other worldly athletes who did not sign up for going for gold through a monsoon.
Sort it out, Glasgow!

Makes it more interesting in the rain I reckon. Felt sorry for the English girl who pulled out of the long jump half way through her run up with  an injury.

Through all my years watching athletics I've never seen her smile.

Long jump is way more stressy than high jump, throwing stuff or running. Hitting that little board and avoiding the plasticine. Then covering several metres in the air. Getting sand up your drawers. It's worse than a Commando course. I wouldn't smile, either.

I get ya, but Greg Rutherford is one of the happiest athletes I've ever seen.

Yes, he's cracked it and good luck to him. What a superb athlete, I agree with you!

I am really enjoying watching, it's good to know other people on here are into athletics.

Be even worse if they are going commando with all that sand.

The rain was not that bad - the roof is quite good. The main problem is lack of natural drainage. The track is raised 2m above  the normal pitch. The water runs off quite we'll not sure where to. The wheelchair events don't mind a wet track if is mondo surface grip is pretty good.

Just waiting to see if Usain turns up in call room tonight. We won't be confiscating his skipping rope this time.

You might complain about the BBC's coverage of the athletics but their coverage of the fucking bowls is
unsurpassed!

Not everybody agrees with you...

"Bowls Scotland wish to record their anger and disappointment at the decision taken by the BBC to take the Lawn Bowls Gold Medal match involving Scotland and Malaysia off air (BBC3) in favour of a preliminary group stage Hockey match involving England and Australia as the game drew to a close.

Bowls as a sport gets very little air time other than during major championships such as the Commonwealth Games and to deny the bowling public of Scotland and the Commonwealth their moment of glory is a decision that requires investigation, clarification and justification.

Bowls Scotland have complained directly to the BBC and await a response. Others who feel strongly enough to complain can do so via the link below."

The coverage by the BBC is spoiled by the fact they take so much time talking to so called experts about what might happen as opposed to covering what is happening!
