Franz Carr

I find this one bizarre purely as he won us a QF FA cup game at Forest...don't want to be one of those fans that I was there, but I will always remember him.

Before my time, but we had the board game 'Team Tactics' and he was our highest valued player in it. We must have been relegated around about that time.

He played for us twice. Winger if I recall the first time round before joining NY Cosmos in the NASL. Joined us again as central midfield play maker in the 85-86 season and was one of the main reasons we escaped relegation that year.

It's weird. I remember Steve Hunt from when I was a kid and in my mind, I see him having been a good player for us for a while in his first spell then going off to the States. I'm just back from Wikipedia and in his first stretch apparently he only actually played for us 7 times.

Is that right? My memory must be playing tricks on me.

When Gordon Banks was our goalkeeping coach he said he could never understand why Steev Hunt had never played for someone like Liverpool. He was very much a footballer's footballer.

I never even knew Gordon Banks was our goalkeeping coach. When was that, then?

When he came back he played quite a few games in the relegation season.  I think Saunders showed him the door after hardly any appearances first time round.  He was a Villa fan who ended up at Albion when GT joined I think.

'Who needs Cantona when we've got Franz Carr'

My favourite ever trip to Forest - and finally an FA Cup semifinal to look forward to. Our first one for anyone my age.

Michael Bradley (Bob's son) been mentioned?

Bumped in Michael Bradley in Vancouver one afternoon when he was on a walkabout downtown when here with Toronto FC. I looked at him, he looked at me, I could't figure out who he was, he was wondering why I was staring at him, he walked off and I did the same. Quite a memorable encounter obviously

Hanging around Portman Road after SGT's first game as manager with a couple of my mates (Nev being one of them), Neale Cooper appeared to have downed a couple of quick after match refreshments before getting on the coach. Years later my manager at work told me she had gone out with him for a while and after staying the night with him after a barbecue at his place he wet the bet and pissed all over her. Neale Cooper that is, not Nev just to clarify.
