Sterling dropped from England squad after a fall out with Gomez. Grealish would have been a certainty to be picked if he was fit! 🙁

Sterling only dropped from first game against Montenegro, not the squad, so presumably back for second game vs Kosovo.

Would assume Jack’s injury will have precluded his selection now anyway as Barkley also pulled out the other day without replacement.

Shame for him, but probably better for us.

I suspect Southgate was told he was injured but we asked him not to say anything as we wanted to keep Wolves guessing.  If so, fair played to him as he had to make up reasons for not selecting him and took some stick for it.

I wondered this and am prepared to give Southgate the benefit of the doubt.

Not sure I buy that theory personally, and judging by a reply by Jack to an Instagram post, he was pissed off with Southgate.

In response to an article that referred to him as ‘Villa midfielder Jack Grealish”, Jack himself simply replied ‘**Midfielder**’. This was whilst the furore over Southgate’s comments about Jack playing in the same position as Sterling and Rashford was going on, so is quite telling.

From BBC

On Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish's exclusion:

"Grealish is a very good player - I've watched him closely this season. He played very well against Brighton. The reality is he's up against Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

"Jack is a very good player and very close. Any issues with the squad and I wouldn't hesitate to call him up."

Where's the call up then ??
Several have pulled out now .

I didn't realize he was as injured as some here suggest as he was close to making match v Liverpool and obviously didn't fully recover to face Wolves by all accounts .
Dean Smith suggested he make Grealish available for England if he was called up and not hold him back

Dean Smith initially  said: 'He's available for (England)selection that's for sure.'
But Dean also said he be fit for Wolves

Err Jack Grealish does.
Amazes me not respect his ambitions
Its the same with people not getting that Jack Grealish actually recognizes and wants to be more of a goal threat.

"Personally I want to get myself into the England team and finish with as many goals and assists as possible"

That's Jack's aim for this season.
Clearly wants to do all those things

Good for Jack.

But Villa come first and we need him fit and not distracted by the England circus.

He'll probably demand a wage increase if he gets in the squad. The bastard.
