Thought he was wasted on the left wing

Best he's played all season for me.

2 strikers who were both running off the ball gave him opportunities to find players in space and his passing looked much more incisive but the change wasn't him, it was the team around him.

I beg to differ with the latter, he had much more of a spring in his step. Probably as that England bloke was their to watch him

Let's see if he can keep it up on Saturday when he isn't

I can actually imagine Bruce asking the players to play with a spring in their step. After they've pulled their socks-up and put on their boots, obviously.

The thing I like about Jack, is how often he plays the pass in the final third that sets up someone else to make an assist, rather than the actual assist itself.

Sure, it would be great if his goals and assists column looked a lot healthier, and I hope that comes in time, but the stats don't count how often he creates the space needed for someone ELSE to create a goal.

Look at both goals on Sat, he played a great ball into Kodija's feet after taking his time rather than rushing in the final third, allowing him to make the assist - and for Bolasie's goal, he had no right to return the ball back to Elmo the way he did (neither defender thought that pass was on, clearly assuming he'd be heading backwards), allowing Elmo the time and space to put a quality cross in for the goal.

These things don't show up in the match stats, so it can look like he's not contributed much in an attacking sense, whereas if you watch the game, often you'll see he's done something very similar to the above.

He also drew the foul that lead to Hourihanes free kick. Again, I dont think that counts as an assist but its telling when you start to add them  up....

I agree I thought it was his best game of the season on Tuesday. He is far from being a prima donna, his work rate is excellent and I think I recall reading he prefers coming in from the left. He is a top player and have read that he should be dropped for the balance of the team.

some good news.  At least we should get the guaranteed release clause value (whatever that may be) rather than be raped in January now.

I see it as off in January for a now  guaranteed fee to negate FFP obligation.
