There's a chap called Bruce who makes them with the round villa badge on it. I'm a collector and I've just had one it's quality. If anyone is interested let me know and i will find out his details.
The yellow one being discussed didnt have the round badge on, it was just the lion.

Well I never- as me Mum used to say. I never thought the round badge was on the 70's collared shirts but check this out:

The round badge only appeared on the yellow shirt during its final season of 73/74, but when it was first worn in 69/70 (the game v Italy U21 people have referred to here) it was just the lion on there, and during the 3rd Division seasons. Famously worn, that I can remember, by Bruce Rioch when he smacked in a thunderbolt in a 2-0 win in Small Heath just before we were relegated, by Brian Little & Co when we won the Youth Cup at Anfield, and i think when we clinched promotion at Mansfield.
The version with round badge saw very few memorable highlights although I seem to recall it being worn when Sammy Morgan flattened Bob Wilson at Highbury in the cup (although I'll stand corrected on that if anyone has a better memory or photo of it).
So for a true retro version of a shirt that holds so many great memories I'd be looking at one with rampant lion and the AV initials under it.

I agree, I only wear retro shirts and my 1971 claret and blue is my favorite and is my match day shirt(although I have just bought the 57 shirt) ;)

I have the 1971 League Cup Final shirt sitting in my drawer. It's a small so doesn't fit me any more.
Free to a good home. First PM gets it.

I picked one of those up on ebay a while back. It's a thing of beauty.

TLP.
As requested, a donation for the cost of mailing the shirt to me has been made to H&V.

Cheers.

There was a link somewhere a while back for a retro home shirt from 83-85 which had the sponsors logo on it.
I'm sure it was by someone other than Score Draw.
Does anyone have the link or the name of the manufacturers ?

I think if you google search "Retroshirthaven" you'll find the website, but they don't have any links to the Villa shirt at the moment but they are cool shirts. I'm not sure if the get permission from LCS or they're knock offs but they do look good.
