Oh, and in case anyone gets mixed up, it's called "The Continental Cup" because it is sponsored by Continental Tyres, not because it's a European competition.

I met one of their strikers last night - she went to the wrong ground and missed the first half.

http://www.birminghamcityladiesfc.co.uk/playerProfile/kirsty_linnett.html

She arrived at the Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr - asking where is the football? We don't play football here this is the home of Birchfield Harriers - this is our training night. But I was told Alexander Stadium, Perry Barr.

I was very tempted to send her on a wild goose chase - but I was pretty sure it was at Coles Lane Sutton so we got on computer and found directions. She left in a hurry - she appeared to be very grateful - I didn't wish her luck - old habits hard to break.

It appears she got there and went on as second half substitute - see twitter comments -

She was going to make up story about having car problems - the injury story is just a cover up.

I wonder who told her to go to wrong ground? Was it deliberate? Was it a jealous bitch who wanted her place?

Who knows?

Got to admit that this is one thing Small Heath have got right.

Yes they were way ahead of us, and many others, on this alone

When the team started they had no connection. They just happened to get a good team together from the off.

Yep, check out their club history. They have been around since 68 and actually created their own youth training academy. However BCFC (run by a 'lady' at the time) pulled out of funding them in mid 2000's and Carson Yeung (evil owner) helped them again to get into the National team.
