Went to the Eddy's, was packed and hard to get served. Not enough barmaids. Then they ran out of lager at 550pm !! The ska band hadn't hit the stage by 6pm so we made our excuses and left. Nice building though will be sad to see it go.
Never been in the social or the Ad's
On a positive the Aston tavern is taking shape nicely.
Oh and pre game we were up the Villa Tav. There was a very weird shin dig in the back room, playing the WorZels very very loudly ! And other such nonsense

How you doing Kingy? I think were only loosing the King Edward. I went in all three mentioned. The Ads was loud and a laugh as usual.
The Social was more older ex hooligan type of crowd.
The Edward was a bit manic but the band were ok.
On a personal note Big Jason was out and about and Steve J came back for The Southampton game.

I'd go to the Aston Social for midweek games, as by the time you'd get to the Bartons after the games the ywould only be open for half and hour.

Will be sad to see that go.

The Adventurers was awful and the King Edward wasn't great either.

The 2 quid to get in the Social puts me off. Also, no real ales much like many working mans gaffs.

I wish they'd shut down the Aston Hotel. The music they player after a match is just horrid. You go in there for a pint and a chat with your mates and they blast the place out with mind numbing reggae. Horrible.

Loved the Eddies. Have to say I've only done four pubs around the ground -Eddies, Social, Ads & Bartons.
Any other decent pubs around to go to next time we're over?

EDIT and one next to the Uni. But that was ages ago, wasn't allowed to drink beer back then!

The Aston Tav is looking decent , hope it's free entry.
The Aston Hotel is ok and they do nice hot pork rolls in there which is nice after a few pints.
The Villa Tav is ok but a treck.
Not sure what the Crack at The Holte is nowadays is it ST only ? 1st come 1st serve ? Think it only opens on match days now ?

Am i missing the point here? If you don't like a pub or its clientele you don't go in?
It's why I don't go The Bartons full of pretentious liberals drinking beers with pretentious names. 😜
