I would put Gabby on the right Albrighton on the left and Weimann through the middle to try and stretch them.

4-5-1 and stifle the life out of the game and hope to nick one on the break, a point is a bare minimum requirement. For me it's

Guzan

Lowton
Vlaar
Baker
Bertrand

Bacuna
Clark
Westwood
Albrighton

Delph

Agbonlahor

Weimann to be nowhere near the team and I'm only playing Baker with the thought he can't be any worse than he was against Swansea!

It's time to get the prayer mats out ladies and gents.

Shane Long ripped us apart with his movement when we played the stripey filth away.  We need defenders with the intelligence to track him and concentrate for 90 mins.

Huddlestone is both a physical presence and has great distribution I worry about our ability to stop him bossing the middle.

If we can stop these two we might have a chance at getting a result - draw or a sneaky win.

Cup final doesn't even begin to do it justice !!

Blanchflower
Rioch

Don't need any subs!

Never thought I'd say this, but I'd start with Holt. A calming influence who's been in horrible situations like this before, frankly deserves to be in the team more than Weimann, offers more defending and attacking set pieces (you have to account for luck as much as possible in a game like this) and good at holding the ball up.

My team would be 4-5-1/4-3-3:

Guzan

Lowton
Vlaar
Clark (don't trust Baker)
Bertrand

Westwood
Delph
KEA

Albrighton
Gabby

Holt

Clark in midfield to give it some strength with Weimann playing off Holt, pace on the wings to get some crosses in.

                  Guzan

Lowton  Vlaar  Baker  Bertrand

Bacuna  Clark  Delph  Albrighton

          Weimann   Holt

There is as much chance as that team being put out as me winning the lottery (which I don't do)!

Rimmer
Gidman McNaugt McGrath Staunton
Bremner, Mortimer,  Platt
Shaw, Gray, Little

That should do it.

I would go with the same team as Monty but with Bacuna at right back over Lowton.

If we're going to play somebody who will put crosses in, it might be a good idea to put someone upfront who can get on the end of the them. Something that Lambert seems to have totally missed in the last few weeks. Holt will also give this side the physical presence up top that it needs as well as offering a lot of experience and leadership.

I debated Lowton and Bacuna. I think that's the only real position I'm not sure of. Everything else is kind of chosen by virtue of the other options being unthinkably worse.

                                               Superman

Spiderman                 Ironman             Godzilla          Batman

WonderWoman     FlashGordon       MickeyMouse      Pluto

                         PeterPan            CatWoman

Subs: Huey, Dewey, Louie, Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick

Manager: Forrest Gump

No wimmin and kids allowed as far as i know, so i'd replace Pan, wonderwoman and catwoman with Predator, Robocop and The Terminator. Animals probably ok, after all we've got a couple of carthorses in Baker and Holt playing and Albrighton looks like an Alsation.

The manager change would definately be an improvement.

No Peter Withe? I know he hasn't scored for a while but no Villa team can be named without his name being included. It's the law. And rightly so.
