Team for Saturday v Hull City
« on: April 27, 2014, 03:47:30 AM »
Lambert kept the same team as the previous week and again they were gutless, seeing as this week could be decisive as to whether we stay in the premiership what changes are possible. I would like him for once to be unorthodox and try something different even if it means playing one of the bigger defenders on the forward line, if he keeps the same team and the same tactics we will lose by a fair margin.

I woud really prefer someone other than Lambert picking the team, we might just win!

I've become so depressed with it all, I'm at the stage where I don't think it makes a blind bit of difference. We are shit whoever we put out

We're at home, fuck the stupid 4-3-3 counter attacking formation off and go for it.

GK   Guzan
RB   I'd put Hutton in cos he'd put some tackles in but he wont be playing so its got to be Lowton
CB   Vlaar
CB   Clark. Baker should never wear the shirt again. Failing Clark, put a youngster in for his debut, couldn't do any worse.
LB   Luna. Hes been sat out a while now, might be chomping at the bit.
RW  Bacuna
CM  Westwood
CM  Delph
LM  Albrighton - try him on the left, I recall him playing on the left and destroying West Ham on the opening day 4 years ago.
CF  Agbonlahor
CF The Fonz - get him back off Coventry quick. Failing that, Weimann. Weimann as a CF is ok. As bad as he and others have been I do think the "tactics" and set up this season have affected them.

Keep the ball down and pass it. Worked at Liverpool away, has worked quite well in one or two others. You see Lambert, if we hoof it, it goes straight to the opposition, and they tend to do things with it to hurt us.

Please take Baker out if the firing line and get Clarke back in. Lowton over Bacuna for me as he is marginally better at defending. Can't see what we could change in midfield, only Sylla on the sidelines and he won't improve it. I think we might have to start with Holt with Albrighton and Gabby. Weimann just isn't contributing is he?
We could all see in January that we needed more, we might be about to pay for the management shortsightedness.

Get Lowton in at right back and get Bacuna in the middle.

I think we were reminded just how sound Lowton is defensively when Swansea scored their third, its pretty rare you can see an attacking player have so many unopposed touches in the box.

I don't think he will change it but he should go for a solid 4-4-2. I would put Weimann on the bench as I think he could have more impact off the bench. Holt and Gabby up front with Albrighton and Bacuna on the wings. Hull will have Long and Jelavic up front as they can't play in the Cup Final so we need to be solid to keep them out.
A point should be enough to keep us up.

Bearing in mind the amount of goals we're shipping at the moment, i'd go five at the back. It's a game we just can't afford to lose and a point might be enough.

I'd go.....

                      Guzan

Lowton  Clark  Baker  Vlaar  Bertrand

        KEA      Westwood    Delph

                 Gabby    Holt

I know it looks a bit defensive but that's what it's come to i'm afraid.

Same here apart from Bacuna in for either Lowton or KEA

What about knocking westwood out and putting clark in midfield.

I really do not see what westwood offers - his corners are shit, he creates nothing and he's as physical as Frankie Dettori

Clark in midfield crossed my mind a few weeks back, it's not a bad idea.
