Be careful what you wish for.

Right now I'm wishing for that Miami Heat guy will buy us and we link up somehow with the new Miami MSL Franchise, furthermore called Miami Villa (playing in claret and blue).  The two clubs share infrastructure, technology, ideas, a certain amount of staff and of course the Miami Heat dude's cash.

The controversial bit would be the fact that Beckham would become an indirect villa employee, attending matches at VP and generally raising our profile.

Sod it, I'm going to start dreaming. Jurgen Klopp as manager, first wave of signings Lukaku, Shaw, Lescott, Milner, Kroos, Diego Costa.

Nice to have a positive Villa related thought for a change, even if it is all a load of bollocks.

A player that splits opinion but I wouldn't want Lescott now with no money let alone when we're going on our £150m spending spree.

Yeah no thanks to Lescott. I'd get Barry back for a season to steady the ship and captain the side.

I wouldn't. I hear that Messi is being looked at with interest.

Well if it's in the Torygraph it must be true, so my money is on Franklin, Phineas and Fat Freddy aka The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers and we could get rid of Hercules on match days and have Fat Freddie's Cat as the club mascot. 8)

On a serious note apart from Bill Kenwright who has said for years now that Everton are for sale I don't think any other PL club owner is "actively" looking to sell. but if the right offer came along then most of them would grab the money and run.
I wouldn't be too surprised if in the near future  Randy sold some of his holding in exchange for a sizeable injection of cash. But I just can't see him selling up and disappearing into the sunset.

I met a guy who was connected with the Everton board and knows Kenwright well.  He said the selling thing is all a charade and the last thing he wants to do is sell up.  What he couldn't explain was why he would constantly say the opposite.

We'd really be hob nobbing with the stars then!

As long as he brings Victoria that's fine with me. Or Rebecca.

Lescott allegedly signed a pre-contract with Besiktas(sp) for next season.

Just our luck the American consortium with two billionaires will be Gillette and Hicks.

That's what I thought.

As with all takeover news/rumours, it's best to wait to see if anything happens before we start scribbling down our new new manager/players wish list. I'll never forget that back page headline in The Mirror from years ago when apparently we were going to be taken over by Argentinians and Ozzie Ardiles was going to be our new manager.

And me. We Villa fans are reliably pessimistic*!

*Look, it's not pessimism, it's just good healthy realism, ok?
