John Carew on BTSport
« on: January 23, 2014, 09:21:52 AM »
Did anyone else see JC on BTSport last night ?

He referred to Villa as "my team".

Good to see that Villa aligned pundits are growing in number.

A fine player.
Villa pundits are growing in number ready for our assault on the premier league title and Champions league winning season in 3 years. Simples.

I heard big John on Talk shite last week and he said that once he had left the Villa is enthusiasm for the game had left him.

He only spoke positively about the club and the fans.

What time was Carew on?

Funnily enough, David O'Leary was on BT Sport's Life's a Pitch at 10pm last night.
While he had a lot to say about Arsenal, he had absolutely nothing to say about his time at Villa.

Dean Saunders was on the same programme the night before.

Much the same as when he was manager here then?

John Carew was/is genuinely loved and nobody genuinely loves their heroes like Villa fans. A bunch of mopey curmudgeons with tired old songs and bereft of recent glory, yet fierce in our love of genuine heroes.
Take note Mr Benteke.

We did manage to get a chorus of 'Andy, Andy Lochhead in the air' going at Anfield.

Whilst Yorke is ex Villa, he's more man U than us. I dont rate him as a pundit. he reckoned Young didn't dive at OT vs us a few seasons ago. Too afraid of upsetting the locals I suspect.

When I've seen Dean Saunders speaking, he always has come across as he clearly loves the club. Merson also called us bigger than Newcastle :P.

Isn't Keown much more of Arsenal guy than Villa?

It looked to me like he lost his enthusiasm for the game before he left the villa.

Not a particularly unique opinion, but on his day he was unplayable, he was just a little too inconsistent.
