They've created an atmosphere for the first time that I can ever remember and the back patting that they're giving themselves is something else. Absolute tin pot club.

To be fair it can't be easy to create an atmosphere for a local derby play off semi final second leg in a massive arena that holds 26,850 people. I bet all of our players were shitting themselves and felt like they were at the Camp Nou.

What a shame.

Dwight Gayle: West Brom opt not to make Newcastle United striker's signing permanent.

That suggests that they're skint, to me.

My first thought was that they either couldn't afford him or that he didn't fancy the move. Probably both.

They’re finally unveiling that statue today to celebrate all the amazing trophies they won in the late 70s and early 80s.

Is it of Brendon Batson casually passing the ball back to his keeper?

The one they spent ten years raising the money for, and then they had to be helped out by the PFA?

That'll be the one.

Despite a sell-out Birmingham (of all places) Town Hall gig by FranK Skinner, a substantial donation froM Sandwell Council, another one from a company wanting to do work for the council (allegedly), the proceeds of a dinner to celebrate beating a mid-table team thirty years earlier, a raffle that had help from the FA and crowdfunding?

Is this the Regis, Cunningham and Batson statue? I thought that had been unveiled a couple of years back. The irony of that statue is that two out of three of those players are Villa legends  ;)

I have just seen the statue on the lunchtime news. It is a good likeness of Regis but I'm not sure about the other two.

They’re unveiling a companion piece in 2060. Holgate and Hegazi immortalised in bronze ‘Nearly Beating Villa.’
