But he must have looked around today and thought "What the hell am I doing here?!"
Well he can think that if he likes or he can accept his current status, get his head down and work on his game to an extent that we want him back ASAP.

I thought he played well against Spurs, every bit as well as Tonev has at any point this season, and he's only a couple of months older than Tonev as well. I'd rather have seen Albrighton on the bench than Johnson, Robinson or Bowery (the first two on experience, Bowery because I'm still not sold on him).

Having a run of games should help him though, especially with the injury record he's had in the last couple of years. Hopefully he can find his old form (which he seemed to do against Spurs), stay fit and genuinely force his way into contention.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has rocked Wigan Athletic by recalling winger Marc Albrighton from his loan spell.

Lambert has several injuries in his small squad and wants Albrighton to return as cover for the heavy programme for the rest of the year.

Albrighton caught the eye at Wigan and manager Owen Coyle was hoping to keep him as his side faces an even busier schedule.

Coyle said: "We'd hoped to extend his loan until a minimum of January. He's been a great lad, I can't speak highly enough of him, so much so that he actually came in and trained today even though he was leaving - that's how much he enjoyed being part of the group."

I hope he plays seeing as he's been recalled then, he really needs the game time.

I don't. Might be a useful sub though.

Certainly better than having Herd or Bowery on the bench. If Andy or Gabby are struggling, he could come on and provide some crosses for the big man/men.

He's more useful than Bowery.

Yeah, wouldn't be surprised if we cut our losses with Bowery, not that it was a big gamble mind.

Wouldn't be surprised if Albrigton goes back on loan once the fixtures around December/early January are out of the way.  Would be good if he got some gametime while he was back.

Bowery is awful. He is out of his depth, that turn against Cardiff when he should have had the ability to bring it on with his right foot was the last straw for me.

Thought he did very well today, put a lot of dangerous crosses in.
Much rather have him in the team than Tonev or Weimann at the moment.
