I thought LAmbert named him as a sub after the Spurs game, but wasn't used.Granted he was probably crocked after that.

You're probably right.I just automatically presume he's injured because he always seems to be

Think we'll cut our losses on Albrighton.

Can't see Gardner being sold, he's had two cruciate's in his career which is terrible luck for a young player. When you've had long term injuries it's not a surprise you start picking up other knocks/injuries.

I do wonder at what level he'll be at when he starts playing again but would like to see him get another chance here as he had what 6-7 games under TSM?

Come on guys get some perspective. As sad as it is, Albrighton is nowhere near good enough and never has been. We hoped he would be, but he isn't. As per bannan, lihaj, hogg, samuel, C Gardner, delfouneso, whittingham, and maybe clarke and baker etc etc. They are all ok academy players and maybe championship, but there isn't a genuine week in, week out prem player amongst them who can cut it with the big boys. The only one we've made who is truly worth it is gabby and he's erratic in his form. We need Ince from blackpool and make him into the next ashley young. It's all over for Albrighton and unfortunately Clarke and Baker will be next because they're a million miles away from Southgate, Laursen, Mcgrath, ugo etc.

@MatKendrick: Here Wig go: Marc Albrighton set to join Wigan on loan, initially for a month #avfc http://t.co/QYs58QAuWV

@MatKendrick: If he's to leave #avfc for good next summer, I hope Marc Albrighton has a Peter Whittingham style revival and returns to the Prem eventually

Good move. Should get plenty of match practise with them being in Europe too.

I think he'll do well there.

He still has talent but suffered big time from Young and Downing leaving in the same summer as when he came into the team all the opposition focus was on them.

I do hope he gets his career back on track.  I know a months loan isn't going to transform him, but a bit of confidence and some match fitness will do him the word of good.  Gods only know that we could do with some natural width at home.

I think this is a very good move for him which will be beneficial for the player and hopefully Aston Villa.

Tonev played quite well on Saturday, give him a chance. On Albrighton, hopefully this give him a chance.

How did he go from MOTM against Spurs in the cup massacre to not even being on the bench ?

With our ridiculously narrow side, surely him on the bench (at least) would be ideal. Especially with our only other wide player N'Zog still unavailable
