David I am very surprised that someone with your knowledge missed the opportunity to use the Only Fools and Horses "To Hull and Back". I suppose that is the difference between good writers and great writers, keep trying.

The protest was a bit of a non event it has to be said.

As for Hinckley, real shame, having been there with the mighty Rovers they have my sympathy. Why is it never Redditch or Kidderminster that go bump, then I could have a good laugh. Inbred wankers. Anyway, back to Hinckley before I got sidetracked, Coventry could use the Hinckley ground for home games, they might even get close to filling it.

Excuse my ignorance, well okay, my memory, is Hinckley's ground the one which used to have a dog track round it?   Been there many times in the 50s and 60s pulling all sorts of strokes.   I know there was a football pitch in the middle but it may have been a lesser club.

They were a merger of two clubs and moved to a new ground circa 2005.

Thanks Dave.   It may well have been one of those merged clubs because the name  Hinckley Town is lodged in my head.   It was the place to go for dodgy dog racing being the nearest flapping (unlicensed) track to Brum.   Good article by the way.
