There was another post that said "noise from The Holte is all that matters". Anyway it doesn't upset me, I just think it's a ridiculous song, and it looks like I'm not alone in that. It divides opinion and this is a discussion forum where we come to express our different opinions.

As someone else said, there is no swear words and it doesn't talk about the Blues, and it's catchy so why not. I would even consider it a bit of a protest at the Sky big 6 or whatever.

It's post-modernism at it's best ;-) Pointing out the frailties of the opposition fans through pointed humour and satire whilst aping their antics.

Bit like singing the score at another team when winning, telling them you don't like them, telling your own team you will actually die for them if needs be, reminding Manchester City they haven't won a major European trophy etc etc etc

Or we could just sit and watch I suppose.

Its a repetitive/building crescendo  song like ClarenBlooArmee so we sing it longer for sure - HEITS is a two-chorus job. I like the return of "Hi-O! Hi-O! It's up the Holte we go..."

I will agree that we need more/better songs but it hasn't changed much for years - the team seemed to feed off the atmosphere last week and it has been mentioned as a positive factor last season - we keep making a racket and the boys respond.

I agree 100%  ,   heaven knows what people have said about we are the holte (think of quadrophenia )  sp  goodbyee goodbyee you come up the holte you will dieee , and loads of other dittys based upon inflicting harm on the visiting hoards,  which apart from Liverpool , Man U and the North eastern pair there were not many unless in the up .

I remember our AVFC , Aston Villa are magic , against the up tempo Everton are magic , Everton are Magic ,     the one that can really do  the damage is the Villa Villa song done in a really slow time ,  it is a bit melancholy, at times we felt that way as we sang it but its great for building up the atmosphere .
