I don't like the Fatboy Slim effort. The first instrumental bit at the start is ok but when the 'right here right now' bit comes in, it ruins it. I love Foo Fighters but I don't think that one quite worked last season either. Theme from an unmade silent movie would be great.

I like 'Right Here Right Now'. It's what we walked out to at Wembley in the FA Semi against Bolton in 2000, so it will always have good memories.  I prefer not to think about the Final.

What happened to the match-by-match vote for the entrance music?

They did it for a couple of matches at the start of last season, Paranoid was the fans' choice, then they fucked it off and went for Foo Fighters instead.

The version of Paranoid that they used seemed to have been obtained by holding a cassette recorder next to a turntable playing a scratched 7" single

Seriously though i would like something that gets the nerves tingling and we can all sing along too - city have blue moon , Liverpool you'll never walk alone, arsenal the wonder of you and stoke Delilah - I would like somehong to be associated with villa in a similar way.

Ghost Riders in the Sky! It fits all your criteria: it's definitely associated with The Villa and it's an ace song!

I post this every time the topic comes up, and everyone always ignores it!  :-[

TFAUMSM / Ghost riders etc are obviously villa related but i feel that any entrance music has to have a spine tingling, intimidate the opposition, rousing quality  like the instrumental part of The Immigrant song by Zeppelin or Fanfare for the common man opening by ELP should do it

It's all so subjective though, isn't it? For example: Immigrant Song - yes! Fanfare for the Common Man - no!

I think that there's not argument that it should be TFAUSM and nothing else should be considered. I'm all for rousing music, but the music that's played before games hardly galvanises the crowd. TFAUSM is synonymous with Aston Villa and adds the rich culture and tradition that make Villa great. Everton have the them e from Z cars which is quite similar in its jaunty upbeat nature.

TFAUSM is our song and we should play it.

Although TFAUSM is what I always hear in my mind (child of the 70s/80s)

Black Sabbath shouldn't have been ditched, we only played it for 3-4 games which was ridiculous as it was much better than the dirge that has replaced it and it was actually a link to this area.

Kashmir from Led Zep for me, (copied/ remixed/ re-hashed) on some many ads over the years but still powerful and uplifting in its' original version from "Physical Grafitti" 1975
