Don't want to alarm anybody, but, news from Bodymoor is that Benteke may be out for up to two months, depending how he responds to heavy treatment.

Could be a blessing that we got Kozak after all then .

we know how important  he is to the team BUT, we have got to learn to play without him sometime.
Without being disparaging in anyway, we are in danger of becoming a far too dependant on him.
It almost looked desperate on Saturday when we trying to get him back on after he came off for treatment.

If he is out for a little while, we really have to treat it as a blessing in disguise.
It means we have to learn to play without him in the team.
It gives other players to establish themselves and bed in.
It also takes some pressure of Benteke. If he knows the team can play without him, maybe he won't feel under so much pressure when he does come back.

Then again, with him out, it could all go to shit and we could totally fall apart :-) !

Dan, has Julie Bayley been in touch with you with some inside voices offering an exclusive?

I'm no doctor but I doubt its as easy as taking a quick look at the scan, and going '.........hhmmmmm, looks like....... 9 days!'.

I reckon they already know but arent releasing it so as not to take attention away from the game tonight.

Would be a shock to spurs if he played tonight :)

Depends on how long the scan is! I mean if it's a mile long it could take a week.

MRI scans are 3D images of the injured area which are assessed on a computer screen

Like AndyH I see this as a chance for the team to develop and to develop ways of playing without the big man.  A chance for other players to step up both in terms of performance and taking responsibility.

Another silver lining is it'll hopefully deter anyone from bidding in January as he'll be just back from injury (well kind of).

Who would people start on Saturday Kozak or Helenius?

I assume Weimann was rested tonight for Saturday and hopefully Gabby will make it as he's usually a quick healer from knocks.

Kozak seems the obvious pick but I dunno he's not that mobile so I feel Kompany will handle him comfortably. Helenius has a bit about him for me, easy to forget but he should've won us a penalty at 0-1 which might have changed things.

No Tonev nonsense please, we need three central midfielders just to attempt to tackle Yaya  I think.

a month is only 2 matches, if he's back for spurs on the 20th october.
