I'm happy to tell everyone that my two best mates even now are a Baggie and a Bluenose.

My Dad is a nose. He's a season ticket holder there.

He has been to loads of Villa matches with me. Probably 50 or 60 I reckon. He was the first person to start taking me to Villa Park regularly when I first expressed an interest in about 1975.

Sometimes he asks me to go to St Andrews. I always refuse, mind.

Bloody hell, Paulie mirror image of me and my old man. In my case 1972 for my first VP visit.

Shame to say, I've been to the Sty about 100 times!

To be totally honest, I agreed to go with him to St Andrews once. They played Derby and beat them by a large margin (can't remember the score, but checking soccerbase, i suspect it was 5-1 in 1976).

When we came out, I vividly remember the look of excitement on his face, I had agreed to go with him finally, and it had been a good match.

"Did you enjoy that then?"
"Yes, it was ok"
"Will you come with me again?"
"No."

And i never did.

I 'treated' my bluenose dad and my Villa supporting son to a pre season friendly at the sty about five years back. Against Sporting Gijon I think. I didn't go, I was working. It ended 0-0 if I remember right. My son said "It's nowhere near as good as Villa Park. It reminds me of Walsall's ground."

Bill Howell should be sacked for basically condoning the ripping up of seats and destruction of fire extinguishers. He's a hooligan just like the other morons!

Bill looks like he couldn't punch his way through a cobweb, so you can't level that at him.

Wasn't Howell the one who O'Leary had a go at in the press?

Howell and O'Leary. If they had a fight you would be rooting for a comedic clash of heads where they both knock each other out.

I'd like to see them have a fight on top of a tall building. Then both fall off and land on Piers Morgan.

Which then swerves into a bike ridden by Bono.

Thought I would try and get it in first.

Bono was in the car. Along with other H&V favourites the McCanns and Steve Hodge.

That'll be Berahino who was so unfit he scored their goal. What an effing joke.

Has any of the local media actually congratulated us on getting to Wembley yet?

Exactly my point - a Villa caller tonight tried to goad Franksy into saying it by opening with 'I suppose we need to be congratulated for getting to Wembley.'  I am paraphrasing.  I am fairly sure this is what prompted Franksy to talk about the cup distraction bit.

And another thing.  I bought the Mail for the first time in years on Monday to read all about it.  Imagine if Small Heath and Smethwick had achieved similar?  8 page pullouts anyone?  We were confined to the back page for Sherwood saying we had bottle, the inside page for the two reporters views including snide shite from Howell.  Oh and page 4 - the pitch invasion.

Small Heath fans have all still got the Wembley stickers in the back windows of their cars.

From the 1991 Leyland Daf final.

I actually saw a car sticker last year from the first time they got back up in 2002-03 - the caption was 'back where we belong.'  It was on an old Datsun Cherry, parked in McDonalds Yardley.  Stereotypes, us?

There aren't any McDonalds in Yardley. You must've been in the lesser South Yardley or Shitts Green.
