And still two and half shows in no congratulations from the station presenter on our passage through to a major cup semi final.

Will they bother sending a reporter to the semi final?

Probably in the Liverpool/Blackburn end.

You can guarantee they'll milk it for all it's worth. Remember that.

I love t that they hate us: sure as hell beats the disinterest that has been the main reaction to us over the last few years.

We could organise a midlands wide boycott of the Evening Mail but I fear someone got there before us looking at the circulation figures.

I'm happy to tell everyone that my two best mates even now are a Baggie and a Bluenose.

My Dad is a nose. He's a season ticket holder there.

He has been to loads of Villa matches with me. Probably 50 or 60 I reckon. He was the first person to start taking me to Villa Park regularly when I first expressed an interest in about 1975.

Sometimes he asks me to go to St Andrews. I always refuse, mind.

Bloody hell, Paulie mirror image of me and my old man. In my case 1972 for my first VP visit.

Shame to say, I've been to the Sty about 100 times!

Bill Howell should be sacked for basically condoning the ripping up of seats and destruction of fire extinguishers. He's a hooligan just like the other morons!

Bill looks like he couldn't punch his way through a cobweb, so you can't level that at him.

Why do I do it? I am listening on the way to the FSF meeting and someone has rung in to suggest a running clock still on the screen though extra time would have stopped the early run on. (Bollocks - because people would run on on the stroke of 95, & the added time announcement is 'a minimum of' - but I digress)

Franksy said 'How would that have stopped fans running on before he end of the game in the 87th/88th minute?' Then when he guy tried to explain that the fans had mistaken a whistle for a free kick in extra time for the full time whistle - he a still completely refused to accept this!

So annoying that I have ended up shouting at my radio, which unfortunately is my ipdo,   & I'm on the platform at Wylde Green Station!

Wasn't Howell the one who O'Leary had a go at in the press?

To be totally honest, I agreed to go with him to St Andrews once. They played Derby and beat them by a large margin (can't remember the score, but checking soccerbase, i suspect it was 5-1 in 1976).

When we came out, I vividly remember the look of excitement on his face, I had agreed to go with him finally, and it had been a good match.

"Did you enjoy that then?"
"Yes, it was ok"
"Will you come with me again?"
"No."

And i never did.

Looked at another way, though, supporting different teams has provided a rich seam of argument material for us over the years. See also, radically different politics.

Howell and O'Leary. If they had a fight you would be rooting for a comedic clash of heads where they both knock each other out.
