Paul Franks 'Are Villa the dullest team in the Premier League' what a wanker.

He might be, but he is factually correct...11 goals!!

Well there's not much point in keeping him with this new so called system. Completely wasted being on the pitch when he doesn't get the ball in the area

I was going to listen to this on the way back thinking it would be full of Albion fans screaming Irvine out but thought if Franks was on he'd peddle it back to Villa as the lead story.

Saying that is not the same as 'Villa are' and to be fair to him we are pretty dull. We don't score many goals or win many games and the only surprises we get in games lately are sending offs.

On a par with Sunderland by the looks of it.

Has there ever been a more immobile front 3 to chose from - Wickham, Fletcher and Altidore?

Very true. I snapped at Franks on the way home. No mention of the Albion being appalling at Stoke though.

But more to the point, would Radio Whyaye Mon say it?

I've no idea. I could ask my work colleagues in the Newcastle site if you really want to know.

I suspect as 5 of the 6 are season ticket holders at St James's Park, the other being a Mackem, I may get a slightly skewed opinion.

We probably know the answer - as is often said on here, there can't be another local radio station in the country as critical of their biggest club as WM are.   A loaded question such as "Are Villa the dullest team in the Premier League?" encourages a dozen "yes" replies and no further thinking required. "Villa are sound defensively, how can they improve their goalscoring?" might actually lead to some rational debate.

We put it on for a bit on the way back and he was giving the stripeyfilth a fair bit of stick but mainly having a pop at one player like he normally does.

He was saying that the stripeyfilth squad were no better than their current league position suggests. Which is weird because for months if not years he has been telling us how none of our players would get into it. Following his "logic" he must think Lambert is over-achieving.

If you take out Altidore and put in Johnson that forward line actually cost over 25m, two MON purchases there of course.

Absolutely agree with this, and have said the same myself a few times.

it is mind boggling, the relationship between them and their biggest club.

Maybe it is just them desperately seeking some sort of "let's be controversial, like TalkSport" route towards generating interest in their awful output.
